  1. Doing any activity while using a cell phone on Cellphone Drivers Drive Like Drunks · · Score: 1

will impare your performance. Period. Typically you are trying to split your attention between whatever you are doing and the conversation on the phone.

Perfect example: I play online FPS while my girlfriend is yapping about what happened to her that day (you know how it is, so and so said this, so and so said that, blah blah dresses blah blah magazines blah blah how do you feel blah blah you never listen to me blah blah blah) and I notice that my scores experience a significant drop and I begin to play like a n00B!!1!!! Why? because while I'm trying to kill terrorists and rescue hostages, I have to simultaneously pretend like I'm actually concerned with what she has to say.

While I do find that the usual "yes, yes, really? no way! for real? well, I dont know what to tell you" combination works well, it is still distracting.

From a software standpoint, yes they have beaten IE since they have produced a superior product; however, firefox is not the first browser to be technicaly superior to IE. Netscape/Mozilla, Opera, etc. are all superior.

From a buisness standpoint, no they are nowhere NEAR beating IE as IE still controls what? 75-80% of the browser market? It would be like saying Target (or any other department store for that matter) has beaten WalMart because they provide better customer service, when the buisness statistics CLEARLY show that walmart is still the king of the department store world.

This may be a little off topic from the parent poster, but I used to play an online text based RPG (Gemstone 3, I think it's still around) during middle/high school. You'd be surprised at how much it helped increase my vocabulary and reading comprehension. In fact, it actually helped me score higher on the reading comprehension and analogy sections of some standardized tests.

Too bad everything is graphics, graphics, graphics in today's games. They are by far less immersive, less imaginative, and less educational.

It reminds me of boys at junior high school dance. With their fragile egos, they stay on the sideline and say the band sucks, the girls are ugly, and that those brave enough to dance are lousy dancers.

  11. Re:You Mean on Hacker Penetrates T-Mobile Systems · · Score: 1

Believe it or not, t-mobile's customer service is actually quite good. In fact, I would go so far as to say it's better than any other customer service I've dealt with. Quick story:

While in college, one month I used all of my whenever minutes (something like 600 or so) and ended up going over a good 100 minutes. Extra minutes were roughly $.40 PER minute. 100*.40 = $40. That may not seem like much, but on top of the already $45 /month I was paying for service, and me being a broke college student, that was more than I could afford.

At the time, I had not known that I was so far over my minute usage. When I checked my balance over the phone via their automated account info system I was shocked and immediately spoke to one of the customer service/billing reps about it. The told me where I screwed up (yes it was MY fault) but said since I'd been with them for a year or 2, they would pay the extra costs for me AND added on 50 "loyalty minutes" per month to make sure that I didnt' go over again.

Now what other company will pay a bill for you, AND give you extra minutes/services for FREE? That experience was enough to keep me with Tmobile for a loooong time (i'm still with them).

I wonder how many Lucasarts and Lego execs saw this before they jumped on the idea of turning it into a game themselves.

of these assholes in the online gaming world who think that it is cool or funny to call someone a nigger. I'm willing to bet that the majority of these dumbasses are little kids who wouldn't dare say the word in public, or to a black person's face for that matter. In fact, I would bet that you can't get in 1 hour of gaming in any FPS without hearing some kid, who sounds like they haven't even reached puberty yet, saying "hang all niggers, lynch them blah blah blah". It really fucks up the gaming experience.

The percieved anonymity of the internet has allowed cowards and ignorant fucks all over the world to show their true colors. The worst part about it is that your kids, and possibly even your coworkers, are probably some of them! Good to know that we've made such great strides towards eliminating social inequality.
