  1. Re:When do we get object manipulation in CS? on Half-Life 2 Deathmatch Confirmed · · Score: 1

You can actually do this on the CS_Office map in CS:S. If you're a terrorist, go into the board room and shoot the chairs so that they are in front of the door creating a barracade. Drop a grenade into the corner by the file cabinets and they blow up,blocking the other entrance. Trust me, it works.

I was on a server with 32 people (16 ct's, 16 t's). We managed to get all 16 t's into the board room building barracades and dropping smoke grenades. It was ridiculously fun when the ct's tried to storm the board room and rescue the hostages. All you saw was smoke and flashes of light as the sound of gunshots and explosions came through the speakers. Definately the most fun I've had in cs in a moment.

You have to improvise with the physics system and use some creativity, but it can be done.

We wouldn't have cell phones, vaccines, and rockets. Conservatives will never go to the stars. They are too busy trying to hold society back.

Every new idea that is introduced is liberal at first. The idea that the Earth is round and revolves around the Sun was denounced by conservative leaders at the time. Fact-based evolution is currently being denounced and taken out of some school curriculums, to be replaced, or taught side-by-side, with faith-based creationism. Faith has it's place for some people in society, but it didn't get us to the moon and beyond.

Every 2-3 years I upgrade at least the mother board + cpu of my computer...just to be able to play games at a decent detail setting. I find that I usually end up buying a great (not top of the line, but great) combo. For example, in preparation for hl2 I'll be swapping out an athlon xp 1900 for the athlon64 3000 (as opposed to a 3400 or better) this weekend.

As far as phones/pda's are concerned, as soon as the one I'm using either starts to act up, or some new innovation in the product market makes the one I'm using obsolete or hard to find replacement parts for I upgrade to the new latest and greatest.

I wish they would continue the series set in the new jedi order period.

Welcome to the concept of evolving technology. I just finished with an IT degree and knew when I got into it that I would end up having to retrain every few years to keep up with the new trends/technology. In fact, I had professors (guys with phd's who STILL took time out to recieve training in new systems) in EVERY major class that I took telling me, "if you don't like to read..get out of this major now. You will be spending half of your career reading or learning new skills to 'sharpen the axe' about current and emerging technology."

If you didn't know that was the case, maybe you shouldn't have decided to choose IT as a major. Granted that yes, the basic concepts are relatively unchanged, you should know that new developments arise every day (look at the articles on slashdot's front page for example) and as soon as they arise, it will be your job to be an expert in them.

On the bright side, once you have the degree from the IT/CS department, all you really have to do is get certifications everyone once in a while for some new technology. That's assuming, of course, that you already possess the basic problem solving skills and concepts needed in the IT world (and a little professional experience doesn't hurt). Coincidentally, most of my classmates were studying to get CCNA's, oracle dba, etc. certifications DURING their undergrad years. I chose not to and was able to find a job as a data analyst, though now I wish I had because I would not be limited to 1 area of this field.

You know it's funny, all of these "hardcore" star wars geeks complain about the changes and ideas that Lucas comes up with, bash the prequels, etc.; and yet, they will be the ones camping outside of the local Megamovieplex with their Jar Jar sleeping bags dressed in full Jedi costume with toy lightsabers just to see the first showing of the movie. THEN they will go out and buy 10 different versions of that SAME 4-6 movies just to complain about them all over again.

If you think/know it's going to suck so bad, why even go see it? Would you go see Gigli 2 or Bride of Chucky, then buy the DVD and collectors edition DVD just to complain about them as well?

My point is that no one is forcing you to watch the movies. If you don't like them or the direction they're heading in, then don't support them. Unfortunately, this is the only way Lucas will get the message because he has already publicly stated that he doesn't give a fuck about the fans' opinions; and why should he since he is practically the RJ Rynolds of the Sci Fi world with millions (if not billions) of addicts feening for just a taste.

It would be interesting to see what happens when someone overdoses on this stuff. Would their head just explode instead of them going into convulsions having a severe case of nose bleed?

The thought of that kind of reminds me of a movie my friend was telling me he watched called "frankenpimp" (or something along those lines). He would get his whores to take this stuff called super crack and as soon as they took 1 hit they just blew up. I dont know if it was a real movie or not, but it sounds funny.

And if you don't believe 1 source, check others..then form a concensus..THEN decide whether or not you want to buy the game. In most cases, doing a little research can save you money and frustration.
