The advetised rate of unemployment is 6%, but once people stop collecting their money, they're no longer counted. Anyone know the true percentage of people without work in the US?
I thought the sensors on the cars wouldn't be able to avoid obstacles in the road. I'm quite interested in where this might lead. If they have sensors that can tackle big static objects in the road, maybe they can refine them for more advanced driving. I'm pleasantly suprised.
What if one of the big 3: Sony/Nintendo/M$ decided to give out their SDK for free, and also continuously pushed out free 3d game making tools to the public? Would the additional thousands of games produced by indys give them market leverage?
I think this challenge is good to try and spur good sensors to be developed, but in the end I think the whole thing needs a lot of luck on its part. Sure you can map a route in GPS, and tell a car to drive it(basically what most the entries are doing), but to avoid all the obsticles, you either need sensors from the future, or you need a lot of luck. The R&D that needs to go into these next gen sensors is in the billions, so I don't think 2 million prize money is going to pay for it. My guess is that some team will accomplish this route in the next 20 years, but it will be attributed to them being lucky and not hitting obsticles.
How can an electric fish be used as a spy? While I was thinking of one, I came up with the robo-barnicle. It attaches itself to a submarine then sends out the location of the sub.
I got paid $50 for a couple page article. It was ok money, but mainly I did it because it was well recieved. People always liked my strategies as I got tons of tells about it. I've done some MMORPG selling too. Theres money in video games... But I think Korea has it best with making video gamers super stars on par with pop stars... I really should have went out there when I was invited, but I never knew it was that big.
I lost my wallet. I'd like to be able to call it and hear it ring so I could find it, or talk to the person who found it.
Of course this idea isn't for serious.
People say how impossible it is to get into the video game market nowadays because of the software overhead that it takes to get in it... But really this is because its sorta difficult to code your own 3d engine, and do all the development in it... When things become more open source, the overhead is lessened significantly. It won't be far in the future where when you make your own video game that you're doing mostly art, music and other content. There is no possible way I could do hardware + software. If I spent a good 10 to 20 years of my life, I could put a good online game out the door currently. I simply could never make a video game if video libraries and hardware weren't available. I'm definately happy the pioneers of video games put so much work into it. They're very deserving of all the quarters I slugged into their machines.

The Science Of Happiness

Before I knew God I had a fear of death from like when I was 6 years old. Before I knew everyone died, I thought people just got old. I wanted to be content to just live forever playing newer and better video games. When I learned about death, my whole priorities changed. I felt that I had to live more for the moment and get as much in this life as possible so I don't miss anything.
People told me God exists and I went to a Christian Church, but it was hard for me to grasp and I never understood it well. My faith wasn't so good, then in 2003 God spoke to me,"Good News", and I recieved a Good News bible soon after. When I found out God exists for a fact, Jesus is Lord. I also learned that he promises eternal life. I didn't go looking for a way to avoid death and thusly believed in Christianity because it was the only possible answer. I found out God exists for a fact then I realized he promises eternal life!
You can speak for yourself and say that God doesn't make you happy. But for me knowing death isn't the end of things makes me a very happy person.
Yes the Bible details acts of evil as a tool such that one can be prepared against it. You'll also notice that God is against such sinning. While Jesus forgives our sin, sin is still a bad thing that we should not do. All of the bad things in the world are attributed to sin. Its hard to understand for many, but,"The wages of sin are death."
If you read and understand the Bible, you'll want to live your life like Jesus. You learn that God watches everything you do and helps you out if you're an honest person who does good. If you know God, you can't help but love him.
Got a good laugh today when my ex girlfriend's BackStreet Boys Cd wouldn't play in her portable DVD player today. Its 2005 and you have basic compatibility problems.
Here's a marketing approach that'd work. At first you don't need all the subscribers in the world, but in the long run you're going to try for them. Release a game thats playable and sort of fun, and with the revenue you get, use it to improve the game. As you improve the game, more people will come on board, allowing you to improve the game further. You don't need everyone to play your game at launch, but if you have a game that'd last the test of time, years even decades, then you could make big money.
Right now, you get crappy internet features on phones that you need to pay for. If you got the internet and could plug it into a display+keyboard, I'd use it for maybe doing ebay on the road, and checking my email.

Sam & Max Ride Again

Sam & Max was my most favorite adventure game ever. I was able to play through it without looking at a cheat guide. So many other adventure games aren't the least bit intuitive.
I shoulda went over to Korea with Starcraft as I rocked it worldclass. The problem with WCG is that you can only compete once a year at San Francisco. I think a real tournament system would involve 50+ games a year with rankings over time, and internet collaboratory. Us gamers typically pick video gaming because its cheap.
#1 Anti Virus never works because there is always a new virus coming down the pipes. Any programmer worth his salt could write a deadly virus in under an hour, but since we're civilized we choose not to.
#2 When you disable Windows XP firewall, its not fuily disabled. You need to go into complex files and manually disable it.
I thought Natural selection is the process of genes being passed on from parents to siblings. When there is a benefit, the genes start showing noticble traits. For example, Mendel's work, or any biologist or farmer that breeds for specific traits.
Evolution is the process in which things change into entirely new species. Is the article trying to say that some people's brains will become so complex that they'll no longer be able to breed with the lesser brained people of the world? And eventually these super brained people will form their own species of Homo Superior or create a band of Xmen?
You register your credit card so you can play on Xbox live. Of course you're also using a prepaid card. The reason they make you register a credit card is so they can charge you for any little thing they feel like charging for. For example, they give you a disk with Xbox live filled with retro games, but each one of those games cost like $15 a pop. I probably wouldn't have put $15 in these games when they were state of the art! But Xbox live lets you purchase a game with a single click of the button. If you don't want to purchase it, but you hit the wrong button to go back, you're out $15 and you're stuck with a crap game. I don't feel comfortable paying for an online service. This is definately an issue for me when buying a console. I'm interested in seeing how the other consoles handle online.
I never went world class in Halo 2 like I did in other competitive titles. But you're right with the Needler. For a gun that totally gives away your position, it should at least do some damage. My guess is that in beta people would abuse dual needler, and they nerfed the damage down too little. Needlers are definately the weakest weapon in the game. I only grab one if I need a 2nd weapon with my SMG and its the first thing I find.
Easiest way to capture hacks like these, or map hack for Starcraft for that matter is print screens. Have the screens randomly happen, and send to the main buisness. Anyone caught cheating is banned. Its simple and will work.
I remember watching 7 year olds play Super Mario Bros, they'd slowly move the controller to the right of their body and eventually they'd hit the limit of their arms and start going up and behind their head. If they're towards the end of the first stage they're playing with the controller behind their neck.
I can code anything you can imagine, and work with any software program. I live in nowheresville PA:P Nothing to do here but bum on the internet 24/7 and wait for Dungeons and Dragons Online to be released.
I always thought it was up to a smart innovator to pitch an idea to the investor. It would just seem to me thse investors are just beggining to be scammed. I mean anyone can say,"Give me the $3 million dollars, I can do what you are asking for."
