That's the problem isn't it? Exploiting the courts, pushing the settlements and punishments higher and higher until everyone is afraid their shadow will block out the light for someone who happens to trip on a loose rock that would otherwise have been seen.
If it starts becoming expected too frequently, then something would have to change
Then it probably starts becoming expected by your coworkers too, sometimes just pointing out to the management that there is enough work here to employ another person. Since that person will not be payed overtime for his normal hours it would make the company save money. A bonus is showing management you can think of resonable solutions to the little problems that can come up around the workplace.
The problem with this standpoint isn't job security, they can't really fire you for doing the 40 hour workweek. The problem is if something unexpected comes up and extra work is needed to take care of it, if you then stand by your 40 hour work week and just go home you will not be considered a team player and advancement/pay increase may be lower or nonexistant. Is not working 5-10 hours extra / month really worth it? Not to me it isn't.
For some strange reason, the only time I ever get ICQ spam/spim is when I use go.icq.com at work. When I use it I get 1 message / day or maybe 1 in 2 days. Whenever I use a "real" ICQ client I never get any.
All finns used to learn swedish as a mandatory second language in school. I think they removed it from being mandatory a few years ago but many still learn it.
I know that, however since the car which sounds like it was pretty new "electronic key thingy". The designers may have gone a little to far with the electrical stuff and made the breaks just like the gas controlled by a microprocessor. On the other hand that might be illegal.
We used to be allowed to be in some school dining room on the weekends. We also had this problem, another problem was getting people to understand that the fuse would blow again if they didn't switch to another outlet.
The biggest problem however was convincing the guy whose BNC calbe was broken that his BNC cable was in fact broken... 50% of the time it was the same guy, he probably hated me for telling him his cable was broken.

I think this may be what gets me into Linux, I have an old 266MHz computer that isn't doing anything.

Imagine being connected to your computer when it suddenly gets slashdotted. I would say worse.
McBride said that his company would soon be erecting a Web site to set out SCO's side of the story.

I'm guessing this is already implemented in most prisons to stop people from smuggling in cellphones.
Natural progression... I wonder when artists will skip record companies all together and just go to iTunes and say "Sell our songs, please"

I think one thing to think about here is intent. Did you intend to use this proxy server or did some spyware do it for you?

Sounds to me there was a glitch in the software and that's why the car didn't break when he slammed the breaks.
I read Doom 3 I read Come-get-some department and I think Duke Nukem!

Strange. I wonder what would happen if it was handed in as a .pdf ... or plain old paper.
Sounds to me like someone will have to get his hands on all the games and play them again just to find out!
