  1. Why build a database? on The Engineer Who Stopped Airplanes From Flying Into Mountains · · Score: 1

Wouldn't a real-time system based on a RADAR detection method be much more reliable or helpful? Do systems that provide accurate surrounding information(upcoming terrain, true distance to ground, etc.) simply not exist?

The government would then only allow and control the single IPv6 address into the country... I may be unaware of part of IPv6, but my recollection is that it allows for more addresses due to a larger format. It doesn't look like that would solve this problem. The issue here lies in the very small and controlled pipe into the country, not with the network running on either side.

  5. I wouldn't call that research wasteful... on Discussing a Private Buyout of Microsoft · · Score: 1

Especially when their OS runs something like 90% or more of the world computer base?

That sounds more like essential to be. Besides, figure it into the budget of their company... I would bet they see it as money well spent.

  9. While you may not credit it as valid... on Britons Unconvinced on Evolution · · Score: 1

Others may. I seem to recall the UK being some kind of a democracy, despite still having a monarch. Social contract dictates that the majority needs to be provided for, and that "educated atheists"(meaning only that the select people you're referring to are both educated, and also putting faith in the atheist position) aren't the only ones choosing curriculum. They'd better not be.

I do feel moved to point out that there's nothing wrong with believing evolution has a long way to go, or even that it isn't valid. I feel comfortable saying there's not much difference in supporting evolution compared to supporting a creation belief, from a proof stand point. When it comes down to it, it's where you're putting your faith. Both topics require quite a bit of it. People get all pissy when I say that, but it's true. How much true evidence is there for evolution, that's not conjuncture and assumption? Science is some people's chosen faith, however unlikely it may be. Myself, I throw down behind a protestant Christian position, but I do understand the other side of the equation.

On another note, it's very interesting to me that the world society as a whole wants to cram an incorrect definition of tolerance down my throat, and then tell me that they won't truly tolerate my beliefs. Double standards are wonderful, but I knew I'd be persecuted.

Macro buttons/programs. They're either time consuming to set up(programs), or expensive, but so is all the other specialized equipment for someone that's severely(as TFA's subject) disabled.

The other answer, of course, is that these customers are a very small portion of the consumer base. While it sounds cold, it would be a bad marketing decision to hold the game back because someone couldn't play it(due to a lack of ability on their part).

  11. I've got a problem with that... on Digital Music Stock Market? · · Score: 1

Why should the cost go UP when there are more copies downloaded? That's incorrect. Price should go down, when there's more product dispersed(in people's grubby little hands). There has to be more product, more copies have been downloaded(therefore, there should be lower demand, making the price go down so people will buy it). Oops, forgot: We're being brainwashed into thinking that buying music electronically isn't the same thing as buying a single or a CD. bastards.
