Children role play constantly and have a ton of fun doing it. I doubt many children are unhappy with their personality (that seems a predominantly adult trait). As for their ability to cope with reality, perhaps they don't to an adult level but they certainly do. (Children are being abducted to act as soldiers for the armed resistance occurring in Uganda, and they cope as well as can be expected with it.) That an adult would seek escape occasionally seems entirely natural to me. I suppose all women who read Harlequin romances are weak, unhappy people by your reckoning.

I see the advantages of using hydrogen fuel from an efficiency measure, and obviously, the idea that its exhaust is boring old water is appealing... but if we use hydrogen fuel a lot, wouldn't the water vapour create noticeable climate change? A few H2 vehicles here and there wouldn't matter, but imagine if everyone in Los Angeles used hydrogen fuel. I could easily imagine the local climate being seriously affected by the extra humidity. That may not be a bad thing in Los Angeles, but it might be a serious problem in cities that aren't so arid to begin with. It could lead to higher cloud cover, increased precipitation, all sorts of things. Something to think about... Compared to the "evil" of fossil fuels, it might be better, but it isn't perfect.

I think it's time that copyright laws were changed. There is a wealth of wonderful old ROMs, operating systems and software that cannot be had because it is impossible to get permission to use the code, but the owners almost universally don't care. The law should require registration to renew copyrights of computer software. If it isn't renewed on a certain schedule (10 years perhaps?), it becomes public domain (or at least legally freeware). This permits those with perservering need to renew their copyright, and permits all the rest of the code to become available to the world. It is a shame that people often have to resort to piracy to continue to use some of these old systems and the emulators that derive from them.
