  1. Re:Wonder what Firefox 2 looked like ... on Real-World Firefox 3 Memory Usage Leads the Field · · Score: 0

Interesting test - pretty amazing how FF3 basically flatlines at around 120 MBytes for over 2 hours of usage ... would have been interesting if the same methodology could be used with FF2 to see how much of an improvement FF3 is over that and how well the leaks were fixed. Flock is based off of Firefox 2, and after a bit of browsing leveled off at 190MB. Firefox 3 was a bit more volatile, but like you said, was around 120MB for the most part.

We're fast reaching a point in gaming where real-time rendering can feasably match the quality of pre-rendered graphics. It's not like the days of the Playstation, where characters in FFVII have a few polygons in-game, but are smooth and (somewhat) realistic in the FMV's.

I'm sure most people here have seen trailers for Killzone 2 on the PS3. Even knowledgable people could be led to believe that this can be replicated on a PC game, and it's quite possible on the current-gen XBox 360.

What's the difference between downloading a crack that unlocks the Hot Coffee minigame, and downloading nude skins for, say, "The Sims 2"?

Because the content was already on the disc? The functionality to access the content was removed, though. You needed intent by the consumer to modify the game so that it doesn't function as it was intended to; and not simply by entering in some easter-egg code, but modifying the executable itself. You can't have game companies suing Sony because their PS2 was modded to play burnt discs...can you?

If you don't like it, ignore them. If you like them, ogle away they know what they are in for.

Awesome line of thinking. "I don't like drugs, so I'll ignore them, even though little Jimmy down the street is addicted to crystal meth and robbing stores to pay for more drugs!"

Booth Babes are a way to get attention, yes, but for an overwhelmingly majority of the games, they're completely unrelated to anything in the game. (DOA: Extreme Beach Volleyball might be an exception.) It's a shallow marketing tactic, and just promotes a skewed image of females to the gamer population.

Next time, try garnering attention by using elements of the game itself; don't just mindlessly put hot chicks in spandex everywhere and think you're going to sell more games or get a good review from a professionally-minded game journalist.
