and they had me completely convinced that the recent re-release of would really, REALLY be my absolute last chance to own the video/DVD/soundtrack/action figures/magazine EVER! and to think i let that golden opportunity pass thru my fingers! now disney can do such promotions like every other year.....oh, wait.
such a dark outlook on the future...it would be pretty amusing in a strange way if non-drm processors become a black-market commodity, tho. imagine back alley transactions between shady individuals dealing in guns, drugs and computer chips, heh.
sarcasm warning
you're absolutely right! as soon as i heard the speculation during the tradedy that these poor kids were playing doom before their rampage, I took my entire video game collection and burned it in my backyard. i mean, its so obvious that those children were the victims of id software's hidden message to kill everyone you dont like! now im 100 percent free of those evil urges brought on by violent video games. no evil thoughts are getting into this head! take that, big software! and if anyone disagrees with me or calls me a freak, ill shoot them in their fucking face!
Do you use the word "starcraft" in everyday conversation?
i believe there is even a type of van thats called a starcraft too...the word isnt copyrighted or anything (or is it trademarked...i can never tell the two apart) except for in the case that you make a game with that title...just my thoughts on it
A theatre with assigned seating based on when you bought your tickets
while it is a good idea, this would never be implemented since movies would never sell out unless they were major releases on opening weekend. just imagine this scenario:
customer: "how many seats left for (movie name)?"
ticket guy: "50"
customer: "ok, how many total seats are there in the theater?"
ticket guy: "400"
customer: "well screw that! those are the shitty seats! i dont wanna sit in the corner of the front row! bye."
so efficiency of theaters will go right out the window....and prices would skyrocket to compensate...
Now, if there were HDTVs, HDTV consoles and HDTV games...
they are starting to arrive even now. tekken 4 has a feature to run in (much) higher resolution to take advantage of HDTV (and use the correct aspect ratio). I am fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of this, and let me tell you it is mind blowing! Also, the consoles out there NOW can handle HDTV...there doesnt have to be a new generation of them as it is just a matter of setting a couple of parameters in software. All we need to do is wait for more games to embrace the (soon to be) new standard, and in the meantime, start saving your money for your new TV.
This is very, very strange. It doesn't sound like Disney at all. They used to be very careful stewards of their brand.
well, maybe they just dont care about japan. anime is kinda moving in on their territory right now. why not just buy the rights to movies that would most likely threaten you and then piss away the release (it still hasnt been to any theaters where i live, dammit) so that americans dont realize what they're missing. in the meantime, the japanese still care, so send them a half-assed DVD to quiet them down. oh, and just to be clear, i think this is a horrible practice, and in the very least the DVD version should be fixed and the bad ones replaced.
sarcasm: everyone knows that NASA just put all those "props" on the moon in 1969! of course they'll show up on a telescope!
but seriously, there is NOTHING that anyone can say or do to shut these silly naysayers up. even taking them to to moon to see the site themselves would result in claims of planting the "props" there before they got there.
that telescope sounds pretty damn hardcore, tho. i want one =)
That means that visits to Slashdot could drop precipitously.
that would actually be kind of good...then i might be able to RTFA within the first couple of hours of it being posted to the site!
think of it....the slashdot effect diminishing to tolerable levels!
but the difference is this:
ps2 and ps1 has better developers making better for them
so far, xbox games have sucked hard except for halo, but they ruined the vision of that game too (ill never forgive you for that, microsoft! NEVER!)
sony eventually toppled nintendo by producing a steady stream of games that kids and more importantly, adults (nintendo is only just now seeing that kids arent the only people who play games) wanted to play
so far, i see no promise in microsoft's developer base
this is a legitamate question. i am not trolling or anything.
the leak is a complete version, right?
so the movie is finished?
why, then, is it not fully released yet?
how come movie studios just sit on finished movies? if its just to wait for a more profitable release weekend then im just . even tho it is not the case today, movies are supposed to be made for our entertainment, not for the sole purpose of making as much fucking money as possible. you, the movie makers, should not be suprised (if you didnt do this yourselves) that the movie got out. why? because people are anxious to see it! NOT because we dont want to pay!
if the movie is finished, just realease it!
nobody says that you have to wait till friday, or memorial day, or whenever the hell you're projected to make maximum profit!
so, according to the article, from now on sites cannot deny, play down, praise or justify the holocaust.
for all you europeans out there, cut and paste this sentence into your website so that you dont get arrested. (remember, not saying anything at all is denial):
the holocaust happened and it was a bad thing.
hey, that reminds me... would anyone happen to have an e-mail address i could use to complain about cartoon network yanking rejected? i was really looking forward to seeing it again as it is the funniest animated short i have ever seen. too bad it isnt more widely available...
what kind of car do you drive? is it an SUV? a sports car? or do you drive the car that gets the best fuel mileage in the world and don't care if it can't go any faster than 65mph (since you don't need to anyway)? good for you if you do....but, its the same concept as that (IMHO).
but honestly, this kind of stuff needs to be looked at. right now, computers dont operate to their potential, and if it wasn't for people out there constantly looking for ways to improve then we would still be using computers the size of office buildings that take half of the city's power just to run it...oh, and it would operate slow as hell. do you have a laptop? how about a PDA? cell phone? these things are only here now and have all of those sexy features because of people who are constantly trying to make things run as efficiently as possible.
oh, and you're right. it does make the games better, too.
the whole "loss of a 60 grand contract" part of this sounds a little fishy to me. granted, this IS THE ISP's FAULT since their accounting fucked up and her service was suspended thru no fault of her own, entitling her to damages caused by the loss of service, BUT i think this claim of losing a contract is stretching it a little.
i know that we live in a technological age, but people still do put phone numbers on resumes. if the discover channel was serious about offering her a contract for 60 grand, you think they'd do more than send her an e-mail or two and give up when they dont get a response. e-mail is not a crutch for communication (maybe not yet) but telephones are still essential, so i ask her: why didnt they call you about this contract if they were going to give it to you??
My son and I currently play numerous games but all he wants is cheats and game saves.
my little brother is like this (im 13 years older than he is).
its gotten to the point where he will rent a game and BEFORE HE EVEN PLAYS IT ONCE, he will go online and get all the cheats and play it that way. he does the same thing with pc games too. it really aggrivated the crap out of me when he went into the data files for civII and made one uber-undefeatable unit that you can build from the beginning....then made fun of me for liking the game (it really is the best ever) since he thought it was so easy and pointless to play! i swear that boy is never gonna learn what its like to get real satisfaction from finishing a game.
yeah, you'd be able to see it then, no matter what camo it has painted on it. but, a moving tank isnt exactly a machine used for stealth. i figure an invisible tank would do something more like sit still and wait for the enemy. then, the puff of sand or whatever will be seen by the target only when the tanks are firing on his/her unlucky ass...wouldnt really matter at that point anyway. also, invisible tanks would be good for storage: why build a fortress to defend parked tanks/jets/any-other-military-equipment if the enemy doesnt even know where the hell it is anyway? it would be the dawn of a new kind of blitzkrieg (sp?) since the troops dont have to stop the offensive to even fortify themselves.
ok, but why now all of the sudden? its like he just decided one day about 4 or 5 months ago that its time to invade and its been crammed down our throats every day since then that this is what needs to happen. why hasn't this been priority 1 since the weapon inspector thing happened awhile back? clinton? if its always been such a big deal, wouldnt ANY president decided it was time to go in and kick some ass? and how come i dont hear anything about preparations to invade n. korea as well? not to play devil's advocate, but arent they in the same situation as iraq is right now? questionable leadership, confirmed weapons of mass destruction (not just a desire to build them like iraq). maybe im just confused here (and i wouldnt be suprised if that was the case, since i freely admid that im nowhere near fit to rule a nation), but it just seems to me like actual motivations and the motivations we hear about are two completely seperate entities.
most hated man in america for several years running? i think not. about a year ago, the most hated man in america was, without a doubt, another mid-eastern man. and he probably still should be, too. but hey, since we can't find him, lets listen to dubya and go finish daddy's business so we can get that pesky economy off of our minds! *end sarcasm*
actually, i think that whole thing was a marketing ploy by....(pause for drama)... sony. sort of like what acclaim is doing with bmx xxx right now. ANY press is good press for a product.
i would think it was something as simple as cracking the password to the account. it really is freakishly easy to do whatever the hell you want to with the money in the account with only a password. but, im no haxor, so i could be wrong =)
don't forget: 4.) microsoft will not use palladium for enforcing licencing agreements. and yes, 4 is the correct number for how likely this is, but this IS the question that mr. green is trying to force an answer to!

you're a purist.
you're welcome.
ya know, if they made a movie that started something like that, id sure as hell be entertained.....
i agree with you 100 percent...but i think its funny to equate rise of the triad's source code and the betterment of mankind everywhere...heh
We don't need another Columbine.
