In the earlier years of school we were forced to do math quickly using math(mad) minutes. Basically a list of problems that you try to answer as quickly as possible. I was terrible at it but other kids zipped through them. I had trouble memorizing the times table and never really did. When I would solve problems I was solving the math problem each time not regurgitating numbers from memory. In order to solve problems it required me to understand the fundamentals of the math. I did terrible in math in the lower grades. Once the math got harder I got better grades and some students that used to do well struggled. I now almost have a math degree.
I'm not sure if they teach math the same way these days? If they do I do not believe it's an beneficial way to teach math. I think the minds of young students would be very open to teach the fundamental building blocks of math. When I took discrete mathematics I thought the basic ideas in the class could be taught to children. I found one thing that was hard was changing the way I thought about math. A young mind might be much more open to those ideas.
Sports is the biggest thing that has kept me subscribing. Most TV programs are available for download in some form. Sports is something you generally want to watch live. More content is being moved online but it often is very restrictive, blacked-out and expensive.
Then again nerds don't watch sports do we?
One problem I see is that during the new deal public works projects needed a ton of manual labor. These days most of the money goes to large contractors and engineering firms. The percentage of money that goes to the lower echelon is quite a bit smaller. I don't think the new (new) deal will have quite the same results.

I was going to suggest Bill Nye but then I went to the Disney store and was shocked at the prices.
Bill Nye the Science Guy Enhanced Classroom Edition DVD Complete Series (DVD) $3249.00.
Time Enhanced Classroom Edition (DVD) $49.95.
The discs better be gold-pressed latinum. Unfortunately, Bill Nye never did an episode on extortion. Might as well get the kid the complete series of Sopranos for $120.
whoops Gal : Honey, I think we should start seeing other people Guy : I can't believe you are saying that, I thought our relationship was strong Gal : I don't know why you're so upset, I've been seeing others for 10 years now, hasn't bothered you yet Guy : You've been doing WHAT?!> Gal : Oh, uh, I mean, well, did I say 10years, I meant.. SMACK

It's funnier this way
"This man's just got to go!" declared his enemies
But the ladies begged "Don't you try to do it, please"
No doubt this Rasputin had lots of hidden charms
Though he was a brute they just fell into his arms
Then one night some men of higher standing
Set a trap, they're not to blame
"Come to visit us" they kept demanding
And he really came

using 1-2 percent system cycles is system slowdown even if it's not noticable.

On Sony's website I looked at the CD in question. At no point does the website tell you there is copy protection on the CD.
So Johnny Uninformed buys a the CD online. He will have no idea he is recieving a DRMed CD until after he pays shipping and recieves the product.
This would piss me off!! I have had this happen to me in the store though as well. I have bought CD's only to realize it was DRMed once I got home. !@#$ this piece of $#@!
I have two solutions 1) return it 2) use my sony CD player with optical output and record it to my sony minidisc in high quality. Transfer the recording to my sony computer where I share it with the world to download in high quality DRM free greatness.
#2 is hypothetical but possible. I like the idea of screwing sony with sony products but then you'd actually have to buy sony products and they win anyway! By the way the minidisc would only allow you to transfer that recording off the minidisc once. Way to restrict my personal use with every product you make.
If Sony made prosthetics would they restrict how I used my limbs?

I didn't spend much time with CS People.
I spent my first year in dorms.
I come from a small town. I party. I didn't need university to teach me how.
It was probably because of my small penis.

People say that university was the best time of there life. I wouldn't recommend computer science to my worst enemy. Not only do you not meet any girls in any of your classes you carry around the stigma of comp sci. On top of that I graduated at a time when there were no computer science jobs. I was forced to take a job as a bartender. Let me just say bartending was fun.
The stigma for girls is even worse in comp sci. It's got to be hard not having any peers of the same gender. They are surrounded by a buch of sex starved guys.
But look at the other side of the coin for example nursing. Not a lot of guys there. You never really hear studies about guys not going into nursing. Even though there is a huge shortage of nurses. The stigma of being a male nurse is a lot worse than comp sci.
If you look at country like Korea, The stigma of comp sci doesn't really exist. I would imagine there is a high enrollment rate for women in comp sci there. Technology is very much a part of their society.
I personally like the theory that the earth will actually cool because less and less sun will be able to get through.
This seems to lean that way to me.
Climate has been changing long before we were around. How do we know we are not in a warming cycle. I think there are far too many factors to consider, to claim anyone knows for certain.

Windows Home Basic versions don't have RDP enabled. In order to get it you need to upgrade to Home Premium for the low price of 79 dollars.

Here is a good resource for this kind of stuff:

The latest archlinux ftp install worked without custom kernel on my 701, wifi and all. The img file makes it easy to install on the cd-less computer.
