Might as well use that stupid Great Firewall of China to do some good. Add "Free Tibet", "Ai Weiwei is innocent", and "Taiwan is a country" to your site to avoid this spam.
Malazan Books of the Fallen deserves a shout-out. It's gritty fantasy that often focuses on military companies. The non-human characters are more than 2dimensional plot devices. Maturely written, puts alot of faith in the reader (there is little exposition, you're expected to keep up).
What does it mean when a person chooses play as an orc, troll, or tauren? How much do they want to play a fantasy species and how much do they want to incorporate themselves into another culture?
Blink, blink... Yeah, I am not specifically disagreeing with you and I suppose this is not out of the realm of possibility... It's just that I have never heard of this actually happening before. Could you send us sources or relate stories you heard?
Cave in to the PC Police? I seem to recall Blizzard repealing the decision of a single customer service rep that would have eventually led them into a devastating court case facing a discrimination suit.
"players may not transmit or post any content or language which, in the sole and absolute discretion of Blizzard Entertainment, is deemed to be offensive,"
You seem to believe that grants Blizzard a right to act however they like but didn't anyone ever teach you Law > TOS + EULA?
These leaps of logic are positively dizzying. A heterosexual-friendly guild is perfectly fine (as long as there is no sarcasm or exclusivity based on sexual orientation implied). Not only is it fine but it is permitted by the terms of service. You violate no rules, you violate no discriminatory laws, and best of all, your right to do so is protected.
Sure, some people might complain about sexuality being brought into the game but that's their right too.
Your point is valid skepticism. Devil's advocate: What if the ad changed the attractive woman to an attractive man and kept the tagline, "Beautifully Executed"?
We should act on this immediately. All references to marriage and relationships in World of Warcraft should be abolished. Tyrande and Malfurion's past infatuation will be erased. Removing the Thrall/Jaina subtext may be a little harder but I have faith in the writers. Children won't have "parents" rather they will be dropped by "Feathered White Hyppogryphs of Spontaneous Life Creation".
Oh! I'm sorry, that isn't what you meant? Next time try to have less ambiguity in your intolerance.
Well, you see gay-friendly is inclusive, black-friendly is inclusive, European friendly is inclusive. What you are suggesting is exclusive. I would urge you revisit your opinion but I think I saw your knee push logic out of the way while it was jerking.
Anyone that feels the entitlement to maintain a monopoly would probably see all attempts to erode their position as collusion with their competitors (competitors meaning everyone else).
Speaking of fun fighting games, just imagine Punchout on the Nintendo Revolution. A controller in each hand to simulate gloves. Gameplay would be incredibly intuitive. Punching with the controller would translate to different types of punches (jab, cross, hook, uppercut). Bringing both controllers up to your face could simulate blocking. Moving both controllers to the side would simulate dodging. I am warming up to the potential here...
Perfect Dark was brilliant but the framerate just killed my enjoyment of the game. It definitely falls under the "Top Ten Games that Missed their Potential". I thoroughly enjoyed what I could and held out hope that the game would get ported to the PC or a more powerful console. I tried emulators but they do not improve the framerate. Perhaps a Revolution version will come with a "Framerate Patch".
Another post made me think about a new model of internet radio website where obscure songs could be played on request.
The internet radio website takes requests from listneners using e-mail. The e-mail requests include the music file that the listener would like to have played. Screeners listen to the music file and make sure it meets their standards. Using their bandwith the internet radio website streams the file. The basic idea being that the internet radio station would only play music that others suggest and would never have to rely upon a playlist of their own. Really obscure music that one person in Malawi likes could be broadcast to all the listeners.
There are some pretty obvious problems with this model. The legality is pretty questionable even if the internet radio station were to delete the content they played. Even so I would love to listen if someone were to create something like this.
If Garriott is correct that would be very unfortunate. Fewer companies means less competition and less competition means less inovation.
If the market were more receptive to less graphic-heavy games it could lower a portion of the costs. Seeing Ragnarok Online (mmo with all characters represented as sprites and slight use a 3-D engine) in action seemed like a natural move to a lower budget mmo that was still eye-pleasing. Unfortunately, the trend did not seem to catch on.
Err, wrong. Blizzard can not refuse people on the basis of being homosexual in the same way golf courses can not refuse people on the basis of being black.
I agree with your comment. Reports of abuse would go up with a click-to-report system. The benefits would be that a blizzard database could rank the most-abusive individuals. Blizzard reps would take a look at the suspected individual's whispers. If there was specific evidence of abuse the individual would be subject to punishment per blizzard's rules. This system would target the most damaging members of the WoW community rather than have the blizzard reps read through page after page of GM tickets (which is the unfortunate situation now).
One of my gripes with WoW is the inability to quickly flag someone as a gold-seller, user of inappropriate language (sexist, homophobic, racist, etc.), exploiters, etc.
Too often will I receive a whisper from a character trying have me visit a gold for $ site. I will report them but the process is not stream-lined, it takes a few minutes. If multiple people could quickly flag this character as a gold-seller then blizzard reps would be able to investigate and perma-ban the most abusive accounts.
I heartily agree. Politics, religion, and sexual orientation can all seriously damage a child. In elementary school my naive teacher said, "filibuster", "theology", and "homosexual" in one sentence. Half my fellow classmates burst into flames! My teacher was promptly sacked.
Seriously, how would a child be hurt by knowledge of these issues?
CNN (US) also sensationalizes the release of new Osama Bin Laden tapes.
If Al Jazeera should stop using the word "martyr" to refer to suicide attackers then western media should also stop using the words "jihad" ("righteous war" or "war that is right") since the word implies that those taking part in a jihad are correct (and those against the jihad, like the US, are wrong).
Their form of news media may not be for everyone but it beats the US militaries system of censorship like shutting down newspapers (que Moqtada Al Sadir's fight against the US military), bombing Al Jazeera's offices, or printing pro-US propaganda in the Iraqi papers (state-run media leads to totalitarianism not democracy).

Another Troll 30/21 Sweeping Generalizations build? Talk about cookie-cutter...

Made by the same people that brought you XBox...
There is a name for handheld objects that can light things on fire. We call them grenades.

Two drunks trying to help each other walk a straight line.

I think Senator Clinton and Senator Lieberman need to review the life of Fredric Wertham.

Succulent little bone creatures, marbled in fat?

You mean like the black friendly guilds MLK Champions and The Spreading Pride?
To address some of your points
