They tore down posters that disagreed with their point of view in the name of civil liberties. Yeah, they're a bunch of extreamist feminest.

Here's something else to think about. Sony makes $12 per $60 game. What about the value games? That's what I mostly buy. The game has to be something I've been anticipating for at least a year before I'd buy it for $50. Games like Sonic Heroes or Pikmin 2. And then there are the used gamers. They wouldn't be any help to Sony trying to make up the $400 loss. So yeah, I agree 100%. There is a limit.

And this is what blows me away. Why would an engineer think that one was created by trial and error? I'm not sure what you engineer, but could you imagion engineering something as complex as a cell through trial and error? Forget trillions of years, you'd have to go on forever until you found something like a cell on the perfect planet that could reproduce. Then after that, how do you convince those cells to form tissues? Assuming that everything went well and we now have an organism, how do we explain all of the other similar organisms. Why do most of us have eyes, ears, nostrils, a mouth, etc... Why if it was all trial and error, we'd have all sorts of cool features that other creatures don't have. Perhaps our mouths would be at our feet. Weirdest part of all, we are all programmed with the same programming language (DNA or RNA).

I'm an IT professional. I design and implement code. My code looks similar from one program to another since I'm the same designer. Heck, I even reuse objects or create new objects that use other objects. None of my code is trial and error. There is a reason I use each object in my code.

I don't even see the point of these "christianity is teh suxors111!!!1one!" articles on slashdot. Is Zonk so unsure of himself that he has to make these posts so that all of slashdot could go, "Yeah... um... There's no god." or "Let's combine every idea into one!" I thought this was a site for nerds. I can just imagion judgement day for a slashdotter:

"Uh... You're not real..." And if you think that's an exaggeration, let's look at 2000 years ago: "I'm God! Here I am! You wanted to see me to believe in me? Well take a look. Watch me prove I'm God. Look I raise people from the dead! I walk on water! Yet, you still don't believe in me?"

What did we do? We nail 'em to a couple of sticks.

I turn on Visual Studio 2005. I look at my application I'm writing for my employer. I write more of it. Eventually I have an application my employer can bill the client on. I'd love to work for the company everybody else seems to work for. They run a program that randomly inserts lines of programming. It then tries to run it. If it works, great. If it kinda works, well then the computer inserts more random code and eventually it's survival of the fittest. Golly, I could sit back and play Nintendo DS all day while my program evolves. The structure of living organisms is too structured to be natural. I'm made of cells. Different kinds of cells. Each one is made kinda the same, but they have different functions. Heck, each cell is made of different components with specialized functions. These cells make up neat little structures called tissues. Tissues make organs. Organs make organisms. How can any of that be trial and error. How many trials and errors must we go through to make a human. Ah, but I'm an idiot. If only I was enlightened and had faith could I believe that trial and error made this creature we called human.

Then you have the one rare guy who says, "Creationism can and I believe did happen." And that statement is obviously against the fuzzy religion, so it's (-1 Flaimbait) for putting doubts into the collective's minds.

#2 Even if I did, I couldn't wrestle away your keyboard. I'm probably several thousands of miles away.
    #3 I was asleep.
#4 I wouldn't have played such a game anyway. But from what I hear, you can have sex with a prostitute in GTA and then murder her. I don't know what you call that. Perhaps that's not sexual assault in your opinion. In any case, a woman is in a desperate profession that she is forced into by poverty. And then she is murdered brutally by a vehical. That's not for kids in my opinion.

So if such a game does not exist as you say, then the law is meaningless and shouldn't affect you. So there should be no complaints, right?

As for the sims. The truth is, people have sexual mental diseases. I agree that it would be rediculous that someone would get off of the undetailed naked bodies of sim children. But think about this. When I was younger, the undetailed breasts of Ryoko (or some other anime character) affected me. Soon, I desired to see more. Eventually I was led (easily) into a path of pornography addiction. It took several years to get rid of such an aweful addiction. And yes, I think pornography is bad. It takes away from intimacy between a husband and his spouse. It takes away from the mysteries and joys of sex.

So being younger once, I know that any sexual scene, abuse or not, is bad for kids. You should be lucky that they are just focusing on sexual assault.

Next, I would like to say that you have to pay to get Lifetime (although I don't know why anyone would) and therefore they have a right to put whatever junk they want in their shows. If I had cable or sattelite, I would block channels that did not meet my expectations in decency. And that would be my right. As for the other movies, they can be blocked by rating as well. I would also like to see legislation that restricts the buying of PG13 movies to kids under 17 without parental approval. A lot of PG13 movies are not sutible for 13 year olds in my opinion.

Finally, the soverignty of the State lies with its people. If the people don't like this law, they will elect different legislators. If they don't then I don't want to hear any whining.
