I liked them too. I liked them a lot. But if the next Zelda was like that, I would think Nintendo was getting lazy about it.
They tend to switch up Zelda's graphical scheme every game or couple of games (last time we had Ocarina and Majora's Mask, this time we had Wind Waker and part of Four Swords GC). This is nothing new. It was just a bit harder to notice in the 8-bit and 16-bit days.
So first everyone complains that Wind Waker looks too cartoonish, and then they complain that this new one is too realistic.
What if Nintendo wants this game to look as realistic as possible? Is that so wrong? They felt like trying out cel-shading (to great success), and now theyr'e going for a different graphical style, namely realism. What's wrong with that? I'm just worried that gameplay is going to be the same except you can fight on a horse this time.
Oh yeah, and by the way, Grumpy Gamer, does the term "alpha stage of development" mean anything to you?
Neither! Well, unless you want to plunk that much cash into a portable. Personally, I don't find myself waiting somewhere wishing I had a portable very often. I would imagine it coming in handy in mass transit though (if you don't have a laptop).
If I got a portable, I'd find a nice, cheap GBA... at least until some more games came out on the others. I know both portables have some good games, but IMO it makes more sense to wait until they have more good games, then they'll be cheaper when you go to get them. Honestly, most games right now for both portables are remakes of older games (with exceptions), nothing to camp out for IMO.
Yahoo isn't doing this as a favour to anyone. Firefox has a sizeable share and Yahoo is squandering away business by not supporting Firefox. Like someone way above said, Yahoo should have supported standards in the first place.
The way they do things now is a bit messy, and cleaning this up (which they might not even do) is just a first step to getting more business. It'll save 'em more money in the long run to adhere to standards. Firefox is the flavour of the day; it'll likely be replaced by something "better" at some point.
Ironically, MSN seems to be moving toward support for all browsers. I don't use it enough to verify anything thouroughly though.
Eventually, they'll be so many redundant cables that this won't be an issue. Losing the Internet will eventually be like losing your power, ie, a rare occurance.
Heck, I'll take that a step further and say it'll be like losing your phone line, ie, a really rare occurance.
They gave out $0.10 and $0.25 as examples. I'm about 99% sure most stuff will end up being $1.00 to $2.00 a few months after launch, once people get hooked on it. My opinion.
And this module business from the grandparent... interesting, but that would really squash a lot of the creativity out of the industry. Where does (brace yourself for the overused example) Katamari Damacy fit?
There's a reason this won't happen. Whenever Google comes out with something new, they put it on the front page. For example google.ca has a link to their new custom Google News. I wouldn't have noticed this if it wasn't one of the very few things on the page. Google's simple front page is the reason why people notice when something new happens. And then, above the search bar, they have that magical "more>>" so you'll always be able to see the rest of their services. Of course, you can bookmark services you like (like I do with Google Local.
Also, they use cross promotions that work subtly together. I got gmail, and then from gmail, there was "new features" link (in red so you can't miss it). Oh by the way, while I'm on this subject, Microsoft, you could learn a little from that. Instead of cluttering my inbox with an email every time you don't do anything new, you can put up a little link at the top like Google does. Back to the point. One new feature was that you could now send pictures from Picasa right to Gmail. I never used Picasa before, but decided to download it to check it out. My family has a digital camera that makes high-quality pics, and we always wanted a quick way to lower the quality of the pics before emailing them. Picasa lets us do both of those things in one easy step. In this way, Google's products spread and grow onto me like a virus. I'd probably never care about Picasa if it was just in some plain list of Google services.
Ugh... another messaging app is the last thing we need. Unless Google makes it's own Messenging service and then makes an app that runs like Trillian, so I can use existing messengers (and messenger log-ins) while also using the Google service. I don't like Trillian though, because the free version seems limited in some key ways. But if Google did this... I could see it being very impressive.
Well, you can either use the Ctrl+T keyboard shortcut for new tabs or...
Get Tabbrowser Preferences. You can set up the program to open links and such in tabs, so you don't need to middle-click.
Then again, is she wants empty tabs, Tabbrowser Preferences can't help. So if she wants to use Firefox, she'd have to use ctrl+T (personally I like opening empty tabs too, and I always do it that way).
I sorta liked Verison's response, as opposed to all the other ones that said "we respect their opinions blah blah blah x% of customers are satisfied with our service blah blah blah we are striving to improve blah blah blah"
Verison just said "That's bullshit" and left it at that. I don't know anything about this "50% of bills are innaccurate claim", but 50 is a ridiculously high number and it smells like BS to me. Just refreshing to see a company to stop making cookie-cutter replies and come out with that.
The sad part of that joke is that there were rumours about it.
You didn't RTFPost. He said you had to either buy the DVD or get XBox Live. Therefore, not free.
You pay $75. I learned that the hard way like two days ago :(

That's what I did too, worked perfectly. I use Windows, by the way, but I'd imagine it to be similar on all OSs.
Still better than IE for a variety of reasons. It's not the perfect mousetrap, and there's always someone building a better mouse.
If this failure to block ads is unacceptable, why don't you go out and build a better browser? Good luck.
Psh, just mod him down 'till he goes past your threshold. That should take care oh 'em.
Same with Smash Bros Melee. And Star Fox Adventures. This game it getting T. Or maybe that new-fangled E10...

Tetrinet is better, but then you're playing over the network and that's probably not a smart option at work.

don't forget Tony Hawk.

I'm just impressed you put the punchline in the same post :)

Holy Batmobile Batman! Whoever had a hand in designing that deserves a pat on the back.
Well, to be fair, those dittoheads were fewer in number than some people think... at least I hope so. I really, really hope so.
Honestly, if you really hate the French that much, just call them "fries".
It's a like a game of Killer Instinct.
... I got nothin'
"American Tongue VS. Polish Language"
Szcz: "Quad Combo"
Szczebrzeszyn: "Super Combo!"
*Crazy tongue twister*: "ULTRA COMBO!"
That was a clear attack on Zero Wing Rhapsody! For shame >:(
And if it wasn't, then... *runs*

Dear George Lucas:
Please, PLEASE don't screw this one up.
Better yet...
Dear George Lucas:
Let someone else do it.
