  1. NCQ on an SSD? on Intel Takes SATA Performance Crown With X25-E SSD · · Score: 1

OK, someone explain something. How does NCQ work on a SSD drive? It isn't spinning, so what's the point?

NCQ to my understanding was stolen from SCSI and thrown onto SATA drives.

So, the data on the drive is in the order "2 3 1 4" and you request it in "1 2 3 4" w/o NCQ it would take 4 revolutions to pick up all 4 requests. With NCQ it would take 1 revolution as it would pick up the data as it was in the drive.

I'm a 5'4 200lb bodybuilder. I do very light stretches before my whole workout. Read: 10-20 seconds of flailing my arms or legs about.

That being said, I do take one or two warm up sets before getting into heavy lifting.

Or, take quad day. I start with squats. I don't stretch before really at all. But, I have multiple warm up sets. I start at 135 -> 225 -> 315 -> Then working sets @ 405 or 455. Everything 315 and below is warming up.

  14. RIAA should learn... on Study Suggests Music Industry Embrace Piracy · · Score: 4, Interesting

Not very many people know this, but the RIAA almost went bankrupt in the 30s with Radio, because they didn't have any licensing fees or "royalties" associated with it. And people stopped buying records because they could listen to it on the radio.

The RIAA should embrace technology. Because that is where the world is headed. Any idiot can see this. So instead of fighting, go with the flow, because you cannot change people. No matter how much you sue, how much fucking money you waste trying to convince people they are stealing if they think of the song in their head.

I hereby kick the RIAA in the nuts.
