  2. Re:Hostile partnerships? on Senate Passes Bill Targeting College Piracy · · Score: 1

I propose that anytime somebody splits an Informative, Insightful, or Interesting comment into two pieces, we mod the second one to hell using "Overrated". Since the poster is getting +10 instead of +5, that is probably the only case in which we might actually be able to objectively say a post has been Overrated.

That being said, I think as part of the requirement to offer an alternative to the illegal download, there should be a requirement to actually produce an equitable alternative. If no alternative exists, the original requirement cannot be fulfilled and should be nullified. I'm thinking in particular about reality shows, in which the actual series may never be released on DVD in its entirety. How can a person be sued for causing a loss of sales on something that has never been sold?

This is done by making there be 'catch up' for slower racers and of course, the INSANE items that kill the entire track. Don't bother. Play old games and PC games instead.

  24. Re:This is Stupid on Social Networking Sites Becoming Useful For Lawyers · · Score: 1

The problem Black people have is they have little or no opportunity to prove what happens to them was real. When you're getting unfairly treated by a cop, the only record that matters is the police record, which is going to say you were at fault and the cop was not. And if they beat the crap out of you then they can just say you did something to deserve it. Then the black people have to deal with white people who (1) apparently don't experience this themselves and (2) feel a lot more comfortable believing racism doesn't exist. In this discussion group, people have claimed racial discrimination affects the outcome for Black people in courtrooms, and other people have claimed that is not true and demanded references to support the claims. Even though several people have actually posted references to support the claims, the people who claim it doesn't happen are getting modded insightful and nobody is demanding that they post any references to prove there is no disparity. Because it feels good and that's all that matters.
