I think the problem is that you would still have 90% of the people running something.jpg.exe even if they saw the extention. Most people still have no clue what '.exe' is, but since there is a '.jpg' they would still double click it thinking its a picture.
All I am saying is we should EXPECT more from finalized products and software. Once we start expecting and accepting that early release software has problems it becomes no big deal to the vendors and you get stuck in a cycle.
Do you accept your new vehicle having problems as it comes off the showroom...?
Ya know its kinda off topic, but we should expect more from a 1.0 release. Everyone says well its version 1.0 of XXXXXX, expect problems. I disagree with that. To me 1.0 means it should be free of flaws... maybe light on the features but free on flaws.
I dont think its time for patents to go away. Inventors and companies need protection for the time and effort they put in to products. Now patent reform I believe is what is needed. In my eyes if you patent something and nothing comes of that patent within a resonable time (one to two years?)then it should be revoked or better yet be changed to a non-patentable 'idea' for all to use.
Sure, companies are doing it all the time, just on a smaller scale. You cannot tell me that Microsoft is not scared of Google on the search/portal side, that Microsoft is not scared of Apple on the OS side, that Microsoft is not scared of Open Office(and its flavors) on the Software side. The only front I see Microsoft not being too worried on is the Home Entertainment side. Really the only place to go from Xbox is up.
Yes its stupid I agree, but on this subject... you cannot do anything with your series 2 tivo if you lose the remote control. There are some pretty lights on the front of the box, and thats about it. No buttons.
Yes that is a good thought, but very unrealistic. I understand the need of content providers to have some drm to protect their investments, as long as it is unobtrustive and does not hampen my abilites. I know will be called a fanboy for this but the perfect example in my eyes is the iTunes setup. I know there is drm there... but it has yet to hold me back in the 2+ years I have been buying music on iTunes.

Nope... I am excluded. :)

Who's who?

"No-one can compete against Google, they've got billions at their disposal."
No-one can compete against Microsoft, they've got billions at their disposal... right?
It's not the GHZ speed, it's how you use it. ;)
Only people with small GHZ say that
It is actually something that my uncle says on occasion. The way he delivers it is just classic.
I am gonna get creamed for this... but is that any better then here where it is a personal ego wankfest?

I wonder if it will come with a cool little plastic wrap like all those Tylenol bottles in the 80's...
Sorry... but anyone who says "git er done" should be clubbed like a baby seal.
Two minutes? Are you crazy. Within two minutes the deal is done, cleanup has completed, and its nap time.
HA, Awesome!
So what would the point be if they just have to give you another passport? Just sounds like a waste of many peoples time to me.
I was not aware that WMC rips dvd's to your computer... your not using 3rd party software right?
Cant you just just buy a univeral remote that will work for both items? Not being cocky here... just kinda a no brainer to me.
Yea their political situation means a lot when everyone is dead right?
Has Microsoft said without a doubt that they are going with HD-DVD for the 360?
Not to be a dick... but what portable music players are "high-quality sound experiences"?
Why... Wireless headphones.
