chateau is a great map, the best is cs_rio!!! It's a custom map, so not everyone has played it. Lots of places to hide, small so there's lots of killing. Rio is an old school map though. I know its possible, but does anyone know how to get the old maps to run on the new engine? I know they did it with all of halflife, for hl:source, and I played a bunch of maps that are the same as the old versions, (chateau, piranisi...)
Sure people are easily tracked who use bit torrent. I doubt they really care. Bit Torrent allows easy ways to find files. It may not be mainstream easy, but it is very easy to use. You can get tons of movies/music/tv shows/warez with little effort, much easier than tracking down ftps and getting access from someone/ using kazaa and hoping what you download is really what you think it is, etc. People want easy access to filez! THey don't care about getting caught
I think its pretty cool to have some LEDs on your case, you know, it can look pretty cool. I think this, however, might be going a big far. It is very cool that people think of these things to create! I for one, welcome our new glowing ram overlords. Actually, I was kidding, I'll stick to my non-glowing ram:)
The amount of ram is important, everyone knows. The more ram you have the less you have to use slow virtual memory. But a very important concideration is the speed of the ram itself. If you get cheap shitty ram you will destroy your performance. Make sure you get a low cache latency and that the ram runs at the same frequency as your FSB. It really can make a huge difference.
That's fine by me. I'll pay a little extra to know that my privacy is insured. I'd rather support a company that follows my value system than a company that wants to sell me out. It's all worth it in my mind.
Let's just hope we can continue to win against the man like this. Respecting privacy is an important thing to me. Companies that will fight to respect your privacy are nice to have around. Even verizon (whom i can't stand), is good about privacy.
"Yeah, we realized that our software was completely horrible. I mean, no one thought anything about networks or intarweb or users or software when this was designed. We feel however, that the more crap we kludge on top of the core kludge(kernel), the better it will be. So we decided to add some 10 year old technology to make things secure for our time"
My crazy Uncle Tony built a dynamic picture frame. It was way cooler than these fancy lcd dealies you're hearing about these days. He printed out a bunch of pictures on one of those old sk00l dot matrix printers that used the paper sheets with the holes on the sides, that you had to rip off after it printed; you know what I'm talking about. Anyways, he printed a bunch of pictures on a long sheet. Then he put em in his dynamic picture frame, which allowed you to switch pictures using a crank that rolled the sheet picture to picture. It was totally cool.
But I hear that in korea, only old people use low tech dynamic picture frames. Uncle Tony lived in South Jersey, and if you called him old, he'd fucking kill you by bludgening you with a baseball bat.

People can play Counter Strike on board the plane. If terrorists see that, they'd be way to scared to take over the plane with all those experienced counter terrorists nearby.
Sometimes issues come up where you need two different solutions for two different platforms. You need to add some #ifdefs or something else that will ugly up code and leave two paths to maintain. You are correct in that it is good experience to know how to port code, and that learning different platforms increases your abilities, but porting code doesn't always help the code itself.
This is nothing new, we've heard this for years. I've heard explanations for this that I don't buy completely. For example, English speakers have special words like thirteen, fourteen... where other cultures are more literal, "ten-three, ten-four..." which lends itself more to natural ability. That may be one thing against Americans or whatnot but its not the real issue.
One problem is bad teachers. Horrible horrible teachers. Kids get behind at one point and from there never learn anything from that point on. Applied math is actually very easy. Some people need to study and practice the techniques, but almost everyone is capable of mastering applied math. However, you can't blame teachers for everything. If kids make the effort then they can do well. They should see a teacher or some other tutor if they get behind. They don't. That's why we're failing, and here's why they don't:
Math, Engineering, those fields aren't as highly regarded in the US anymore. Sure there's lots of people interested in it and are very talented and successful, but in general we've become lazy. People in other countries who don't start out as fortunate as many americans work harder towards these goals. Also it doesn't help that you can take a MUCH EASIER job as a business jackoff and make twice as much as the scientist/mathematician/engineer, get all the credit for the work, and do basically nothing but bullshitting with some other asshole on the phone for awhile and having sex with the secretary.
Just one more of my rants on why the world sux.

Both browsing and email are integrated which is nice, because they are two very common applications. I don't understand the huge gains people get by using firefox and thunderbird separately.
Mozilla suite is stable and all I need, I never had a problem with it using too much memory like some people claim. I also have this bitchin faux wood theme that makes it look like its 1975.
Don't get me wrong, I like that there's more products to choose from and more competition for ms and crew, but I just don't get why mozilla suite was ignored and firefox and thunderbird are so highly regarded.
I agree! Finally someone that thinks justice was their best album. I don't understand why that album was so panned. The Black Album is when they started to go downhill, and we all know what happened after that.
And we know that's just not going to happen./.ers like us and a few others are gonna be pissed but hardly anyone will say anything. If you're interested in the game, even if crippled you'll buy it, if not you won't.
Life sux, nothing to see here.
Well I'm gonna go play counter strike. That game isn't crippled at all! I swear!
So what's this saying? Americans are suckers and would pay extra for "functionality" while its rubbed in our face that the functionality is not only possible but available to other people.
I'm sick of getting screwed over for games and technologies. If this is the greatest country in the world, why does our technology suck so hard? Why do we let companies screw us?
using a phone line on a bbs to call *another* bbs that was out of your long distance range. Cool oldschool stuff :)

It was actually a very detailed and well written article on the game.
At least when CBS blindly accepts stories, lots of people get fired. Here, no one is required to take responsibility.
With goat in it, on slashdot. I hope you understand the horror.

Nice job, boys.

I remember when zsnes .400 came out. That version was a huge update! It allowed me to play ff3 and a whole bunch of other games.
I must admit, lately I've been using snes9x, but I will have to try this out to see how they've been doing.
I got this awesome mp3 player from Frito-Lay. You may be saying, "wtf, frito-lay makes an mp3 player?"
Well Goddamnit they do! It has 32mb (27 more than this guy), and is da-bomb!
I have it play the dynasty warriors 3 theme song. Oh yeah. That song rox. You know you love songs about ancient people killing other ancient people.
And i got it for free, from my mom. Cause she has dealings with fritolay. Pwn.

cs_747 is a great map to practice on as well.

Can I use this to stream mp3z to my car radio?
Were they just asking for it? Seriously? I always wanted a nice Go board. That's a nice gift for someone. Axis and Allies is fun too.

In Korea, only old people use holograms.
In Korea, only old people watch star wars
Therefore... uhm... In korea, only krudler gets first posts!@
