That is a stupid idea. Often dozens of people submit the same story, but until one of them is accepted, there's no way for them to know that they have already been posted by someone else. What happens is that 10 people submit the same story. Then a slashdot editor accepts it. Then later, a slashdot editor accepts another one from another user, even though both users posted around the same time. Or even the second (dup) may have submitted theirs before the one that was accepted first.
So yes, the slashdot EDITORS should be punished. NOT the submitters -----
Yes. As an additional point, consider this situation from american football:
During a play, your opponent breaks a rule which is normally alleviated by a 5 yard penalty. However, your team gained 7 yards, so it is to your advantage to ignore the penalty.
Granted, the site appears to be a pile of feces. However, Dean Kamen does have a history of letting Average Joes in his house as part of the FIRST program. As a promotion to get the Segway popularized, it's not that far of a stretch.
I hope Gyford will deviate from Gutenberg's 1893 version to include some of Pepys's more outrageous sexual adventures, reduced by the 1893 version to "....""

H20/IP functions in a similar way as TCP/IP but focuses on the inherent viscous properties of water that are not present in traditional packet networks.
So a Token Ring system done this way would be a viscous circle?
Fleet and BankBoston were often sources of headaches for me. Eventually I decided the fees were too much and I switched to a credit union. But Fleet's Homelink is excellent and I miss being able to use it.
And here it is all on one line.

Ah hell. Serves me right for posting about a game I don't know much about.
And they made a really long one called "The Transporter".

Didn't they already do that?
zing!
Yes. It's easy to stalk the deaf cause they can't hear you sneak up on them.
Sure beats the old A/S/L method!
Interesting that you call it that.
... I don't really get the Segway either.
Kamen actually has created an upright wheelchair. Once it's in mass-production, it should do amazing things for the disabled.
For those of us who can walk

Yes, the one thing the Internet lacks is sex.
Not if it doesn't get past the content filter!

The 2000 line of products is a huge leap over the 95 line
:)
Over Office 97 as well. I switch between the two at work and home and I am always pleased when Office 2000 sucks less
Supposedly my office is finally switching to 2000 in the near future. Woo!
What is oqo? I followed the link but the site is too flash-heavy for my weak little PC to handle. Could someone explain it?
There's a fascinating analysis of the Terminator time travel issues here. Other movies are covered on the site as well.

I don't get it. What are you talking aboot?
Me too, but for the chicks rather than career interests.
Mmm, biology...

It's good to see that at least some people have some sense.
Thank you.
