Only after the trials are finished, and the patients tested for the substance, does it come to light who did and who didn't take the drug. How could there be a more blind study? Maybe I am just ignorant/unfunny.

Since Take-Two has the publishing rights they're going to keep the DNF assets and current playable game and never release it or they're going to hand it over to another team that won't put forth the Duke style that one would expect. I really wish they would at least release a beta demo of the playable assets.

Awesome, I actually like the Halo universe. Especially the book that ties together the first and second game... that was just great. I just hope it really doesn't try to work with Nivens material. Steal from the man, please, but never take it to him. Ring World was an awful awful book and it's great thing that Halo took what Niven had and made it better (in my opinion). Did anyone else feel the lucky girl was a bit of Deus Ex Machina?

It seems the only country that really needs to worry is japan. Since the USA has had its cock all over japan since the 1950's we're also in it but what I REALLY want to know is what China thinks about this. I mean... if China complied with Japan and the USA... any attempt by north Korea to do anything would be ultimately futile and devastating to their leadership. Why would they even try to leverage them selves with weapons instead of diplomacy? It seems sort of non-sensible to me, it contradicts logic. Though, I'm not Korean... so how would I know what they are thinking?

People are such twits. They really think they are helping children when doing this, which is the ultimate scape goat. What they are actually doing is preventing them selves from being exposed to something they find objectionable. They are imposing their morality/fear on individuals who aren't committing crimes, of course... not for long. What this all boils down to in a neat way, as it always does, is.... people are stupid.

Keynesian economics, as an idea, is very infectious. Why? Because, I guess, at some level people THINK this kind of action will work. Of course they aren't exactly following why the government is doing this (to prevent deflation). The problem is that now... it will cause massive inflation... or so I think. It's really not me thinking either, I just take Peter Schiffs word for it... if only because he demonstrated that he really is a professional in his field.

  21. Re:Corporate culture on Shell Ditches Wind, Solar, and Hydro · · Score: 1

It depends, C4 plants could thrive (as they already do) under high CO2 conditions. The mesophyl cells will give them a certain advantage in high CO2 low 02 environments. So, Corn production might increase as well as sugar cane. C3 plants might have a harder time as 02 competes with the excess CO2 (when they are acting as enzyme cofactors). The guy who wrote the article probably doesn't understand why CO2 and O2 are important and it just seems like some baseless insert to make the article seem more credible. Given that the argument that Shell is doing a bad thing in dropping "renewable" energy is weak to begin with. When it takes more energy to produce solar cells, wind farms, and other renewables at this time... it seems logical for Shell to drop it and work with what has a net output rather than waste money on technology that is merely a cultural desire rather than a logical alternative at this time.
