I'm happy with hearing this news. Maybe I can finally remove that email filter that sends all email offers from TigerDirect to the trash bin. Assuming they stop selling new-as-in-expired-but-unopened hardware.
Yeah, that's what I'm seeing. As if cooling a CPU to temperatures only expressed in Kelvin proved anything. Let us all go around flaunting the fact that our processors can run at some insane clock speed if we had the money to afford liquid nitro.
So when do scientists plan on researching visualization hardware that is forward compatible so that we can observe 1:1 preview samples of the next generation of hardware. The article presented yet another video of an amazing visualization device that I cannot comprehend on my tiny computer display or my HD television set. At least on PBS they try to explain the future with diagrams depicting how it is suppose to work.
And I'll bet they are the ones who marked my comment as off-topic. Just like they ignore the fact that 'if Anonymous-then Slashdot' is not the same as 'if Slashdot-then Anonymous'. I learned the difference between one-way and two-way implications back in grade school.
So in actuality zombies are messengers of love? I guess that would make sense. Since love comes from the heart, the desire to eat brains comes their need to eliminate everything but the heart.
Looks like Anonymous has just leveled up. I wonder about a couple things. Who paid off Virginia state to label Anonymous as a terrorist organization, and how much of Anonymous will be loyal enough to stick around now that they are labeled as a terrorism threat.
Yeah, and I think there's some adding problems. I don't see how my points could possibly be added up correctly unless some achievements equate to zero. (http://slashdot.org/~kiehlster/achievements)
I am a Firefox fan, although a dying one since its quirks are starting to annoy me, but I don't have an interest in returning to IE for more than one reason. The latest reason is because IE8 doesn't support my older software--Older Microsoft software. Microsoft Money 98 no longer runs under IE8 stating that its missing IE components. I'm still looking to replace my money software, but I have yet to find any competitive OSS alternatives. Until then I refuse to use IE8.
Anyone have any idea what it was like for the bat before it likely lost its hold and fell into the flaming rockets? If it got near or above the speed of sound, what would the bat be thinking? Do they just perceive a wall or does the bat see nothing at all? Just wondering what was going through its mind.
That's what they want you to believe. Can't you see now that Microsoft plans to steal one more idea from Apple? They're going to bring back Bill Gates shortly before the company completely tanks and Bill will appear as the "savior" of the brand, releasing simplified versions of Windows -- eliminating all this Ultimate/Business/Home Premium garbage -- It will be Windows. Period. And suddenly you will see silhouette commercials for Microsoft branded products.
Are you kidding? I say this is the dawning of the age of open source entertainment. Who wants to collab on a wiki tv script? Anyone interested in trying out open source acting/scenes?
I'd mod you up if I had the points. Seriously though, the guild is discriminating against the blind and developmentally disabled. If they're going to enforce that text-to-speech be illegal, then publishing a book without an audio edition is illegal. We've already got laws enforcing websites be accessible to a degree, so why would e-books be an exception to this?
Him: Yeah, babe, and now you can tell your friends that your Valentine's Day card runs at 14 MHz.
Her: Awesome! One for each of the 14 babies I just birthed.
I probably wouldn't have gone with those examples myself. I didn't think MySQL even came installed by default. I thought it more interesting that the Ubuntu server edition did not include things like APM in the base install. That's great if you never expect the power to go out, but I think I would prefer my server to shut down when the individual or centralized UPS system is running low on battery.
A real astonishment is if the main Ubuntu distro were to dump Gnome for Xfce--Essentially turn Xubuntu into "Ubuntu" and turn the current "Ubuntu" into Gnobuntu.
I don't know about any of you, but I have very few popups. My trick is to run my own dns server and cacher. I just write myself in as the authoritative name server for folks like doubleclick and every other annoying ad service. Every time I find a new one, I just replace it. On top of that, I set up opendns on my servers and it filters out anything I missed. In addition, I point all the ad servers to a web server which does a few checks on the url and responds with a blank image or html page to fill in any gaps in the web site that the ad may have left. The strange park about it all is that the popups dont come up with my customized ad-block image/page. They don't come up hardly at all. Moral of the story: block it at its roots, block the dns.
Funny thing about ad-replacing web servers. I set up my web server to respond to any website and assume it was an ad request. The result was some script kidiots thought they found an open proxy and requested themselves over 9 million pages containing a "This ad was blocked" message instead of the expected yahoo account hacking and so forth. I got myself a list of commonly used yahoo password guesses (and I righteously blocked millions of crack attempts) and they got themselves a waste of their freaking time.
Caller: Hi, my computer keeps getting these blue screens.
Tech: Have you recently installed new software or hardware?
Caller: No, it just randomly started getting blue screens.
Tech: Have you had any power outages lately?
Caller: No, everything has been fine up until now.
Tech: Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Caller: Yes, I even turned off my printer and my heat lamp and speakers and all the other stuff plugged in here.
Tech: Sir, I'd recommend you turn off all the lights in your room while you use your computer. Remember, your skin must be perfectly pale as to guarantee that your computer is not being exposed to any external light or heat.
No, a better plan is to strategically adjust the trajectory of the planet into the sun. It's the only way to be sure.

No, it's more likely that there'd be "Moonlight Mobs". Surprised I haven't heard much of "Wiki Mobs". Now that would be scary.
And I'll bet they are the ones who marked my comment as off-topic. Just like they ignore the fact that 'if Anonymous-then Slashdot' is not the same as 'if Slashdot-then Anonymous'. I learned the difference between one-way and two-way implications back in grade school.

I'd be more interested in the Cyberdyne HAL model T1000. Why would you need superior AI intellect when you can turn into a pile of sentient mercury?

I'm sure it was running on Apaxe with mod_bwaxed.

I'm sorry, I was a bit confused. Somehow I thought /. was for stuff that matters. Now I will have to go Batleth crazy on your arse.

Clearly Putin just doesn't want his country to suffer on the phone for five hours with Dell's outsourced Indian technical support lines.
No, the zombie robots would win if there is any truth to the phrase, "You are what you eat."
Did anyone else immediately think of this when they read this headline? I see a sudden rise in Q-tip sales.
...will it blend?
