My school also had this. I was a computer technician for my school... About 20 students did that. We had about 1500 students with laptops... Yeah. That was fun.
Everything that happened in the article happened in my school, pretty much. AFAIK, no one was charged with anything for changing anything, the only thing was students that damaged the computer and refused to pay or tried to keep it over summer (Theft charges.)
We had to go through about 4 passwords because they kept getting out. Eventually, the computers had to be locked down so that just about nothing could be done on them.
One difference, though, was that there was no way to get around blocked websites on the laptops, as all the connections in the school were filtered through the county servers. Students still managed to get porn onto the computers, through connecting at home. That was a 10 day suspension and the laptop priveledge being removed for their time at the school, I believe.
Officially, we weren't allowed to connect to the internet at home, but there was nothing preventing it. I believe that next year my school is going to be putting a program onto the laptops to allow for (screened) home access, though.
Again, this all only applies to my school, but the situation is similar.
6 face buttons would be rather nice for figting games.... Or just all arcade games period.
I've never actually played a Saturn, except a friend's. That would be a case where you'd need to do some creative problem solving for getting games to work well (like the N64)... Alas, the Saturn doesn't emulate well anyway (ShF3, how I've longed to play thee...).
My question about what you mentioned would be if it could use all of them at once. I've had some multiplayer fun with emulators and the adapter I linked to.
Which is why you buy this. No, seriously. I play every emulator that I have using this. With the exception of the N64, every console (and arcade button layout) works with this thing. I love it. I've always liked the PSX/PS2 controller style though.
Totally agreed.
That was my first thought on reading the summary... It is creative thinking. Hell, don't you get damaged if you grenade yourself up somewhere? You're just that much easier to kill after that. Or if you have to use a teammate to get somewhere... That's time both of you could be off helping your team kill, depending on how long it takes to get somewhere.
If the player can't be damaged once they reach their destination, I can understand how that could piss other players off... But, that's still just bad level design.
20+ year old fad, in America alone. anime will never die in Japan... But the question is if it can make money on this side of the ocean, I suppose...
The funny thing is, it's UNDER exposed in theaters. While I sure as hell don't want Disney to handle series, they'd have the power to get more anime into theaters. There are enough people ut there that it WOULD make money. The best part is, the risk would be much smaller, as Disney only has to make money over the cost of bringing it over (and I'd assume there'd be some royalties back to Ghibli).
Is it done?... Well, lesse... I've had about... 3 movies in theaters near me in the last 5 years? That's a no.
(Note, any business stuff was pure conjecture... And I've been up for way too long)
Final Fantasy VII came out when I was in high school, back when the only exposure that I had to video games (due to a sheltered life and a technophobic parental unit) was an extremely old SuperNintendo system with Mario 2that I got when I was...five, maybe?
Sorta off topic, but... wow. I'm wondering if he meant NES or SNES... The game and age make me think NES, though.
The pinnacle of Final Fantasy was when all of the development was focused on the main lineage and the occasional Tactics or Crystal Chronicles were a nice side diversion that had nothing to do with the main storylines.
Since when did the FF games have a main storyline, anyway?
On topic now.... His entire arguement is that because he didn't like FFX-2 and FFXI, and that because Square is making a few sequals.... that Final Fantasy is dead. Wuhzuh? How does that make sense, in a money making sense? Last I checked, people are drooling on themselves for the FF7 spinoffs and FFX-2 made money. I personally liked FFX-2... More than FFX, even. FFX-2 was a lot more fun than FFX.... I believe this is just a fanboy that doesn't like the way the series is going. I can't say I blame him on the account of the 4 thousand FF7 spinoffs and FFXI, but.... The series is probably not dead any time soon.
... Any comparison of the PS3 and XBox 2pi are pretty stupid anyway, considering the consoles aren't out yet and the software make the system more than the hardware... And to base them on their software now... Is just stupid. (Yay, offtopic)
Except, by definition, adding those in, WOULD BE BLOAT. Get what you want and only what you want.
Also... Likewise for mouse gestures, you have to hunt down and find the best extension that does what you want rather than have a consistant implementation built in.
Both of these issues mentioned aren't really pros or cons of Firefox... Both are really issues of development style. I would rather the choice of 2-3 extensions and finding a good one to use than being forced into one person/group's definition of how that extension would be done in Opera.
... Can you blame them? the computers at my school are already vandalized physically(About 15 computers of 40 or so have no CD access due to the rubber bands in the CD drive of an iMac being removed.). If they had didn't have much heavier restrictions, I think a lot of computers would be messed around with.
One can learn the guts of the machine in classes meant for that. My school actually does have them, and a lot more are offering them. Don't let everyone have that sort of access, however.
As for your case... Maybe it was a tad harsh to ban you just for accessing a prompt, providing you didn't do anything. Now... Some reformed thieves also become security specialists... Doesn't mean breaking and entering is ok.
it won't be shipping with OSX, though.
It doesn't even run natively (officially, at least, NeoOffice/J works natively), so it has to run in X11... And Running things in X11 really, really sucks. And it's ugly.
Furthermore, Apple wants to, you know, sell iWork. Why would they package a program that would replace that?
If it was to be included with OSX, it might have a chance to become a standard... With the rest of the above? nah.
Did you miss one of the point of his post?
VBA == Not optimized. Check out other GBA emulators. They exist. VBA might be the big name, but... The big names aren't always the best.

Reading comprehension, class... "Powerbook"

Actually, it was a grammar issue, not a fact issue.
Same thing happened with Simba, too... Kimba, The White Lion.

I believe the PS2 was also sold at loss. GCN wasn't until the drop to $99 and that is just a small loss.

d1,00,000,000 for this...
Not to sound like a total geek (...wait...)... But there seems to be no anime on there.... Meh.

... That's why IE6 went unchanged for a few years, right? Or, is long before they need to any time they still have the dominant market share?
If yo don't know how to navigate a discussion, maybe.
Chgeck his first post. Notice there's a link to parent. Click it.
Check ... oh... two stories ago.
Idiot.
Ah, cool. Thanks.
The OSTs for FF1 and FF2 are listed as being released May 10th, 2005? Had the OSTs been released before this?
... Can you blame them?

From that list, No$GBA, Boycott Advance, and the OPTIMIZED version of VBA on the bottom of the page seem like they'd help you..
... What proof of age did you have on you at 13 years old?
