Yes, but the description is measuring width, not length. In this case, the 3 gorges is only about 115 meters, vs 221 meters for the Hoover. The description is still wrong though, the Zhiguli Dam in Russia is about 750 meters wide and there may be others that are wider (seeing as the Zhiguli was completed in the 50s).
As far as I know no one "forces" them. Everything released up to the point the firmware update is released will still work. But with Apple, there are apps that require the latest updates, thereby "forcing" you to update if you want to use those apps.
Only because they had no plural form due to the fact that they did not understand viruses. We now understand that viruses are indeed countable and many medical texts use both viruses and virii for the plural.
Ever heard of the short story, "The Lady, or the Tiger"? I don't recall exactly, but it was published sometime in the late 1800s, so I'd assume it's old school enough for you. I remember loving that story in High School precisely because I got to choose how the story ended.
Actually, the copy is made on the computer of the uploader, not the downloader. The copy that is made is sent to the downloader, but they did not make the copy. Still considered illegal under US law, AFAIK.
Sorry, but I can't let this slide. I know I'm just being picky, but it was 246 toothpicks. He counted them in groups of 82.
82, 82, 82... 246. And there were 4 left in the box.
That's an excellent strategy. Regardless of the values or positions of the individual running for office, you will vote against them. And people wonder what's wrong with this country.
It isn't slander if I lie about someone and defame their family ON THE INTERNET.
Your right, it isn't slander. It's libel. And, at least here in the US, the burden of proof lies with the Plaintiff, not the Defendant. You would have to proof that, not only was it a lie, but the person who said it knew it was a lie, did it with malicious intent, and that you suffered damages because of it. However, a rumor, is typically viewed to be opinion, not fact. Therefore, libel law does not apply (again, I'm referring to US law).
Isn't the same true the other way around though? Everyone seems to be ok with a given action when it is being handled by their favored party. As soon as the same action is taken by a member of the opposing party, they have a problem with it. It's not strictly a Republican "syndrome".
I agree it does seem like a waste. My brother-in-law (moderate republican) and I (left of center Libertarian) had a debate about this recently, and he made one good argument. The concern (coming from those who would seek to make abortion illegal) is this: We use the stem cells that we already have due to abortions being legal. Then years from now if a bill is on the table to make it illegal, we have setup a roadblock against it. What??? Illegalize abortion and lose all those great stem cells that have been doing so much for us.
Personally, I have realized that abortion for the forseeable future will remain legal, so I agree with you. Let's use what we've got.
So, it's ok for Adobe to push their proprietary protocol, but not MS. Admittedly, I don't know a lot about print spooling, etc., but isn't PostScript a decidedly Adobe created format.
Actually, MAC is a trademark of a particular company that makes ATMs in the Northeast (especially NJ and PA). I know a couple of people from PA that still refer to all ATMs as MACs, just like southerners call all carbonated drinks Coke.
How is the parent Flamebait, when the Grandparent is +3 Funny. Aren't these just the same joke (except the one making fun of democrats is Flamebait)?????
OK, and this isn't true in the Theory of Evolution??? It seems like both theories require you to believe that something was here before anything else. With evolution, the world came from particulate matter floating in space, then boom (yes, I realize it is more complex than this). But, where did the particulate matter come from? Matter does not come from non-matter, unless you subscribe to an omnicient deity with the power to create. So SOMETHING had to be here from the beginning, and it could be particles floating in space, or it could be the little green men.
www.americanhumanist.org has the following on their website.
What is the DHC/HS?
The Division of Humanist Certification (of the Humanist Society) functions as the qualifying body which confers uniquely Humanist ministerial credentials. All persons certified by the DHC are legally authorized to perform weddings, as well as all other rites-of-passage in all 50 states.
Ministerial credentials? Certified to perform both weddings and rites-of-passage? Sounds somewhat religious to me.
So Atheism does not conform to the following:
religion --
4 : a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith
I know many atheists who would say that is exactly what their belief/disbelief is.
Not saying that I agree with ID or it being taught in our schools, but your argument doesn't hold water. Imposing this on preachers is not the same and here is why. You are not required by law in this country to go to church. However, my son is required by law to go to school. I am forced, due to not having the option of vouchers, to send him to a public school, since I can't afford to pay for both a public and private education. Therefore, I am forced to have my child learn evolution, whether I agree with it or not.
Note: The DVD's liner notes indicate "the step function has been disabled during the playback of the feature film"--upon the request of Roman Polanski, who was closely involved with the preparation of the DVD package. However, the step feature worked fine on the three DVD players that I tested. Unfortunately, though, the fast forward and rewind features have been turned off, which is extremely annoying. On several occasions, I missed a bit of dialogue and hit my remote control's rewind button to catch the dialogue again--but no such luck. You can't do it. You can only navigate among the 14 chapter stops.
I Am Not A RFID Developer, but I believe the range limitation is at least partly in the transmitter. It doesn't matter how good your receiver is, if the signal isn't transmitted 2 miles, then there is nothing for your receiver to pick up.

Seems like that would have been hard in charades. Especially since you're trying to get people to guess a movie that doesn't even exist.
That's an excellent strategy. Regardless of the values or positions of the individual running for office, you will vote against them. And people wonder what's wrong with this country.

Oh yeah, IANAL.
According to the law, my understanding is "yes, there is something wrong with doing this."\
According to my own personal ethics, absolutely not. It is no different than me Tivoing it and FFWing the adverts.

It could also be described as a belief, just as easily. One could say "I don't believe in God," or they could say "I believe that there is no God."
So, playing the devil's advocate, are we saying that we are opposed to any definition that is at or below #4? Let's see here.
Let's get ready to tell all the ravers that house can not be used any more as the following:
9 : a type of dance music mixed by a disc jockey that features overdubbing with a heavy repetitive drumbeat and repeated electronic melody lines
My God (whether I believe in Him or not), it is definition number NINE. It must not be valid then.
Ministerial credentials? Certified to perform both weddings and rites-of-passage? Sounds somewhat religious to me.

Just wondering what you would say the reason is for the majority of abortions (if not a method of birth control)?
