    Four-bar linkages are what you want to look up if your linkage is simple. That's on Wikipedia. More complex than that and you'll need a text book. Info online is a mile wide and an inch deep.

    Exactly! I wish there was some sort of test before you could buy products that were developed using scientific research. Such as: What are the definitions of a theory and a hypothesis? People could still buy products that are natural or were accidentally discovered.

    I would like to know where you got your information. In college, a professor with a PhD in Aerospace Engineering said the same thing as the parent post. For a given engine size, increasing the size of the fan shroud increases the efficiency of the engine. The limiting factor to shroud size is the distance from the wing to the ground. Removing the shroud gives you the most efficient engine--a turboprop. But...passengers think turboprops look scary so airlines don't use them. It's all about looks.

    It seems like you are confusing the common use of the word "theory" with the scientific definition of "theory". A scientific theory is based on facts. The facts come from experiments that are measurable, observable, and repeatable. I am in favor of teaching all scientific theories.

    I agree about the two parties. I think most people have the sports team mentality when it comes to politics. Unfortunatly, sports are the only place where win, lose, or draw apply. Complex issues are multiple shades of gray.

    In my day, we didn't have this fancy "internet". We had tin cans with string. You had to yell your 1s and 0s through it to send anything. And it was uphill both ways...in the snow...with no shoes. And we liked it.
