While working with the Vista beta, I have accidentally crashed programs many times while trying to force drivers for things into the system, and trying to get programs to run that weren't made for Vista, etc.
I haven't once had a crash in Vista that came up in standard usage, only in odd circumstances where you immediately think "shit, why did I push that button, I am an idiot."
Also, GC is commonly used in the News/Television world to mean "Character Generator," which makes those little name-bar things under the reporters on TV.
What? They don't rent them at my local Blockbuster and when I asked why they said that "Corporate told us they weren't going to for now and they don't plan on doing it in the future."
Stop whining. These people are not trying to change your life. They are not going to come to your home and replace your movie collection with edited discs. They are not going to buy out Blockbuster and only rent you "G" movies.
There are some people in this world who don't enjoy the same things in their movies that other people do. These people might want to still share in the experience of the film, just minus what they consider the "naughty bits" as the summary calls it. This company realized that these people would pay money to get the movies that have been edited especially for them. The company then took advantage of this business opportunity and made some money on it.
Do not blame them for trying to make money. Obviously they do not want to make every movie censored, as they would then be out of business. The "naughty bits" are good for business. Stop being a paranoid whiny idiot.
...but what you can open. 7-zip has not only opened for me every compressed file type I have thrown at it, but it works without being bloated and does pretty good with compressing, too. Also, a few times it has gone through opening someting that WinRar wouldn't open for some Error or another, and the files actually came out working.

1832. Theft of trade secrets

If anything, an article about it will generate publicity, and therefore help Apple, not hurt them.
All of that book stuff out of the way, the movie looks pretty interesting. I think people will accept the movie a bit easier, because it is easier to think "oh, this is definitely fiction."
This kind of stuff is different. Watching the actual screen of a player is usually boring, but watching from a separate spectator camera is much more interesting. This is the way most games do spectating, unless the game does not support it.
I had a carpenter friend who cut two of his fingers off and didn't feel pain until he noticed it. I had a friend who broke a foot snowboarding and didn't feel pain until he looked at it.
This is a very common thing. It is usual for someone to not feel pain until they actually see an injury. It is more common when the injury is unexpected, because the brain doesn't know that the feeling it is recieving is supposed to hurt.
Shouldn't #6 from the first link ("If You Weren't Disabled Before...") be covered under ex post facto laws in Sections 9 & 10 of Article 1 of the Constitution?
The "Mega-Bass" button doesn't usually give you "more bass than the musician originally intended," it usually just gives you about the same level they intended because the types of stereos with that button generally don't reproduce as much bass as the $1,000/piece reference monitors in the studio that the musicians mastered from.
No, you will be arrested for being a "public health hazard."
You are covered on the "free speech" part, though.

When will they be in HD? That's when I'll be interested. But yes, they are hella easy to use.

That rounds out to about 1 tank of gas.

not so much that Blockbuster will want to leave the video game rental business.
They already have, in a sense. They don't rent Xbox360 games. Hollywood Video does, but they are a much smaller chain.

...for all their "new" servers!
What actually is "Deep Brain Stimulation"?

1. Security, security, security: New holes, new holes, new holes.
2. Internet Explorer 7: GetFirefox.
3. Righteous eye candy: Ooohhh shiny...
4. Desktop search: Learn to organize.
5. Better updates: Why update? Because it was broken in the first place!
6. More media: More DRM!
7. Parental controls: Real parents don't need an OS to babysit their kids.
8. Better backups: Already have that.
9. Peer-to-peer collaboration: ???
10. Quick setup: Why am I running setup more than once anyways?
In short, 10 compelling reasons why you don't need to upgrade to Vista.

My electronics teacher used to be a programmer.
"...if you're a couch potato, suddenly becoming active may be harder than you think"
No, I've always thought it would be too hard. Why do you think I'm still a couch potato?
Are you calling me a rat because I push the /. button all day?

You're thinking of "Elbonia," and that would be "-stan suffixed former Russian countries."
