The best proof that there is no Intelligent Design in this universe is that it wouldn't design someone as stupid as GWB, its biggest supporter.
It is incorrect, IMHO, that Hyperthreading and increased performance are related, at least on server platforms. Unless the server applications are concieved with multithreading in their design, it would be incorrect to assume that Intel HT would somehow figure out the assembly code and facilitate performance.
Not everyone on/. is a gamer. Moreover, a 16MB simple card works great for most of us. I often wonder why so much discussion about what ATI and NVIDIA do?

Whatever it is, minimum wage in US is about 5$/hour. That's sort of salary someone in India/China gets per day. This is true at least until wages in India come up to comparable levels, i.e, 2$/hour. Only then we'll see measurable shift from outsourcing to insourcing.

It doesn't matter what FCC wants to do, it simply has no control. Who are they going to regulate, wireless providers or devices? If devices, why can't they be gotten into U.S without FCC permission? How stupid can FCC get? Now that Michael Powell is out of helms, isn't it high time it recovered a bit?
I think Mac OS will change the scenario, at least to some extent, once it starts shipping on intel platform.
But then, Apple is not a whole lot different from Microsoft anyways.

Their printer, graphics calculator business is on the way out. Exactly what do they do? Just like Walmart and Dell who don't make one thing on their own, HP too has reduced to a assembler.

does google in china abide by all the (anti)freedom acts they have up there? If so, that would be sad.

Is there a measured study about why Firefox slipped? If none, there is no point is speculating, be it bugs discovered in FF or IE becomming stronger.
