(Warning for visitors: WA has one of the most zealous state highway patrol forces in the nation. Just don't exceed 10 over the limit here.)
10mph? You guys have it lucky. Here in Victoria if you're more than 3kph over, you're done. Which is interesting considering a roadworthy car's speedo only has to be within 10%.
Well I guess it just depends on what kind of football you're talking about.
In American football, it'd be a different field, cos its played on a rectangle field.
In soccer, it'd also be a different field, cos its also a rectangle field.
In Australia, it'd be the same field, cos they're both oval shaped. However, there is no set size for it, so it wouldn't be a very good measurement.
In the US, your show pretty much always gets booted by any live show that comes on before it
I wish it was that good in Australia. Our shows get pushed back due to non-live shows. I just stopped trying to watch Law & Order when channel 10 has any Australian Idol going (pretty much constantly it seems).
TV Guide:
7:30 - Australian Idol
8:30 - Law & Order
TV:
7:30 - Australian Idol
9:00/9:15 - Law & Order
Its not live. They've got no excuse.
Channel 7 is a bit more consistent though. All their shows start 15 minutes late. But that doesn't really matter, because as soon as they find a good show, they'll change the timeslot each week so they can axe it due to poor ratings.
not to mention, you can use your iPod as a general purpose USB/FW disk drive, back up your data to it, store and view photos on it, and record your own music and audio notes...
Which you can also do on pretty much every other MP3 player out there
If they really want to beat the iPod, give me a Palm with a hard drive...
They don't want to beat iPod, they want to contend with iTunes (which they won't due to the fact that the songs won't play on iPods)
I'm no ray-tracing expert, but I think it depends on the approach you take. You can either send out rays from all your lights, and see which ones get to you, or you can send out rays from the screen, and see what light they emanate from. The latter you could have any number of lights, whereas the former you have the same light-limiting problems we have now.
Put simply, Queen of England is our head of state, though in reality she has virtually no involvement, though she could if she wanted to. The governor general is a representative of the Queen, appointed by the PM, who also has a bit of power. Then you've got the PM, part of the government, where everything has to be voted on and what not.
However, there has been a lot of talk about becoming a republic. It won't happen soon, but I imagine it'll happen well within my lifetime.
I hate auto-completes that put in brackets and anything other than the variable/function/whatever name. Especially Borland Delphi's. Without fail, it will put a semi-colon on the end of lines that shouldn't have one, and won't on lines that do.

It should be noted that a video game can't actually be rated R18+
This is probably because there strictest rating for games here is 15+, and so if its not suitable for a 15 year old, its banned outright.
Bycycles are no longer illegal because kids can no longer go on the internet and download porn
I say abolish Standard Time instead. I'd much rather it be lighter after work - especially during winter.

PCI Express cards are available now. Have been for some time now.
I did that but with * .c
Subversion was my friend that day.

So what OS are you running?
Yes! Here I was thinking 'Great! No April Fools Day jokes for the whole day!' Now I read slashdot, and find them all on the 2nd. Grrrr.

Not really sure how they are now

Yeah, but Ep II had a slightly less annoying anakin, and a lot less Jar Jar
It's like forcing everyone to pay for something that not everyone will use
Cos thats not happening with half our taxes already.
Up until a few months ago, I qualified for all of those except 8 (I don't own a car at all)
Also, who would pay $20/month for dial-up?
Aren't you supposed to be innocent until proven guilty? How are they going to prove that such-and-so a game made them do it?

Get a bit wet riding from Uluru to Tassie won't it?
Highly unlikely. Europe -> Sydney -> Canberra would be the quickest way (from Europe)
Women will always have a bunch of horny men chasing after them. Guys don't have that luxury
I don't know about you, but I'm glad I don't have a bunch of horny men chasing after me.
The idea is to ease communications access to areas without convenient electricity
Problem being that most places without electricity don't have coverage anyway (at least in Australia)
Haven't Pentium-Ms had 2MB L2 Cache for a while now?
We still had that problem at uni until about halfway through last year
