The levies broke (like they were predicted to). If Bush was awake during the meeting when he was told they could break better plans could have been made. Of course if he hadn't lied afterwards and told people "nobody could have predicted this" people wouldn't blame him so much.

Actually, I believe that they were crested. As for being Bush's responsiblity to handle the evac, if it were my town/city that was under the gun, I would first look to my Mayor/Governer to do their job. Sadly, there is enough blame to go around at all levels for this one. Besides, everyone knew that New Orleans was bound to get hit sooner or later. The city design was doomed from the start and who designed the city?

You are making the same mistake the US military is, fighting the wrong war, and losing both because of it.

Understanding how the "US military" functions helps when you dish out criticism against them. The "US military" doesn't choose who or what they battle in or for. That choice would be left up to the civilian elected leadership.
As for the MPAA 'fighting the wrong war,' they are doing what they can to discredit and place fear amoungst the masses about how wrong it is to use such technologies.

In 1956, geophysicist Marion King Hubbert predicted that _U.S._ oil production would peak between 1965 and 1970. In fact, U.S. oil production peaked in 1971, so he was pretty close. U.S. production has been going down ever since. This current article is about _World_ production. Hubbert predicted that would peak around 2000.

Though focus has been on the Mid East Oil reserves, I would like to believe that the Chinese are not the only "long term" planners on the Planet. I would like to believe that the greater economic minds of the early 1900's (not limited to the US, but the Brits & Canadians as well) knew that who ever had the last reserves had the best economic, and therefore, best political advantage on the planet. This resulted in the development of oil production in places like the Middle East and South America. Depleat their sources of oil and the only souce left would be located within the borders of the US and Canada. Granted it could possibly take hundreds of years, but it could happen. And if the three play nice with Russia, those reserves yet un-reachable there would add to the mix.

If you'd pay that much to just watch the movie, why should you pay less because there's commercials? Isn't the movie itself still worth the same to you? Talk about crying a river.

The commercials pay for the movie. Just like watching TV, the commercials "pay" for the shows that are presented. If the commercials are paying for the movie, then what am I paying for? I don't want to pay to see commercials. It has nothing to do with 'crying a river,' it has to do with getting what I am paying for which is just the movie, not the commercials. Understanding that I could choose not to sit through them, but I'd prefer not to have them on the screen at all. I am paying for a ticket that is valid for use to see a movie, for example, from 9:00pm to 11:00pm, however from 9:00pm to 9:15pm I am watching commercials.
Let me guess, your in advertizzzing?
