I just don't get why everyone loves OS X desktop, says "its way to go for linux" and yet they don't install/use WindowMaker and Afterstep on their own desktop.
It has been years, I still remember how freaking easy and non problematic on Slackware to compile/install stuff, so no big deal for users I guess. Considering user profile of Slackware (hope never changes).
OS X here. If I ever get involved in Fink, will run windowmaker rootless for my X apps.

In corporate environments, very advanced features of Acrobat is used. Secure documents, forms, sounds etc. If you look at Acrobat plugins at Adobe, you would get a clue about how huge is Acrobat in fact.
I got the best pdf viewer on planet, its OS X itself but I still download and use Acrobat 7 to buy ebooks for instance.
Now, I just wonder why on earth companies doesn't use lizardtech's 'djvu' plugin arch. We speak about 7:1+ compression of PDF manuals. Its plain amazing to me considering the bandwidth price they pay.
I got sick of FedEx etc prices (I am at overseas) and trying e-Books from Amazon now. Its the only way to read purchased ebook at your screen. No, I really don't like hacking stuff.

I think about something else. Because of some special needs, I bought Intego antivirus in my first mac days. Than the PR disaster came out. They found an actual way to easily hack the system locally and came out reporting it. Result? Complete ignorance from mac community including bad mouthing their native country (Fr) even.
Some day, maybe in a week, some virus coded by dark people will come out and it will be a total disaster since everybody shoots the messenger.
If you go into huge download sites like macupdate and see the stuff Applescript can, you would be amazed how come no asshole came up with a virus yet.
I don't speak about a lifeless moron sitting in his basement and programming a virus. I speak about a lifeless clever asshole paid by some company and coding the first virus for OS X and creating disaster since nobody will believe it.
Why there would be something like that? Since ordinary people, REAL ordinary people started to switch to OS X from windows. We don't speak about the rich people using tube amps, HDTV etc here and buying Mac for coolness. We speak about ordinary people were using Windows/AOL/ICQ/Office and figured the stuff they use exist on Mac minus the virus crap.
Eh, its what people get for wmedia. In such situations, remembering the amazing flame real networks gets while offering NATIVE stuff to platforms makes you laugh.
We will see when Microsoft make it impossible to use wmedia 11 or 12 by a simple trick, like requiring advanced latest directx.
I bet the stuff they offer won't play in OS X native wmedia client (you know its a joke), someone should pay for it and call his/her lawyer for lawsuit.
You would be very surprised if you had time to compare 512kbit Realvideo 10 or Quicktime 3ivx even DivX for same content.
Of course, there should be an uncompressed or 4:2:2 source to compare.

BTW, the formats I mention are all DRM enabled. If you use mpeg4 strict variations (divx,quicktime,3ivx) you will have mac customer base. Those guys/gals could pay $2000 for their computer. Also forget about half of bandwidth price you pay.
If you use Realvideo 10, you get native client with end user support. Those realplayer owners/users, 2 MILLION of them are active subscribers to premium content services.
