I'm surprised they even mentioned CRTs. I used to salvage gold from computer circuit boards. Enough to put me through college and then some. Sometimes it seemed like slave labour. After watching Gold Rush, I don't think I had it so bad.
So do you have any actual proof about the EPA not caring or is your opinion all based on what the main stream media has told you to believe? Just curios.
The batteries themselves I would think would be fine as long as they're fused as they should be. That would be an overload condition. Back when they discovered this in Hawaii during US Nuclear tests, batteries, ignition points, traffic lights, anything electro-mechanical was fine. Tubes radios and such were for the most part fine. It was transistors that blew. Semiconductors for the small stuff. For electrical grids where wires can pick up a lot of current from the blast, it was the transformers. If they're set up to get rid of the electric like the IEEE has been telling them to do for well over a decade, it wouldn't be a problem for that, or if the sun decides to hit us. The sun hitting us is far more of a concern because that's not an if proposition. It's when will it do it. A bad one could put us out of action for probably a decade. Life will suck for a while. Imagine all of the young people not being able to use their phone. Oh the humanity. Us old guys - not so much.
I have a general knowledge of this stuff. Decades of reading about EMP and such over may sources. I haven't studied it at length so if anyone knows better than I do about this, please contribute. Someone might say that the tesla batteries will overload, blow up causing an environmental hazard and burn for weeks. Who knows.
Some people really hate change. They are also very vocal. Take the 386 chip. It wasn't good when it was good. 68000, 88000, other chips were far superior to the 386. Yet we still have the sucker around today. Even when it was painless as it would have been with the Digital Alpha chip. The first 64 bit CPU, pre-dating Apple by years even though Apple lied about it when they released their chip. Slashdot beta - lots of complaining, even on this discussion. Systemd - We needed a new init, man the bitching about this one. So many didn't want to suck it up and learn the new system. At least there wasn't as much bitching about fixing/dev from the old days. And so on.
They should teach kids in school. Things change. Has it been tried before? If it was tried before was it successful? If it wasn't successful, like socialism for example what will be different this time? If there is no change, it'll fail just like it always has.
The left: "You don't need guns, the police will protect you" "The police does a lot of unjust things" or straight "ACAB"
Now that's just not true. They never claim the police will protect you. They know that's a lie, everyone does. They also know that if the public is armed they are much harder to take over with a force. The public can defeat them. I sometimes run into people that think the US Military would squash American citizens with guns. Then I point out how well the Iraqis did in Baghdad against that same military, and they were just about disarmed before we showed up. At home they're sitting ducks and they know it. At least against those of us that are armed.
The right: "Blue lives matter", "All cops are honorable perfect humans" "Everyone should have a gun, just in case they're not"
Both sides have their contradictions, yet the latter makes a little more sense.
Once again this just isn't true. Blue lives do matter. I'd say most, not all are honourable. None of them are perfect, though they try. We know there are problems, we can help fix them. One thing the cameras have shown is that the people complaining tend to lie, a lot. Occasionally it catches a bad cop with a good person.
We need more guns because with more guns there is less crime. Studies show this decisively. From places where you must own a gun all the way up to the most strict gun laws in the nation. The more gun control, the more crime and murders.
I have to wonder if you read my response, got a phone call or something and forgot where you were? I'm indicting the justice system for what it is. Usually a crap shoot. A jury certainly not of my peers. In fact they are often below average people and they'll convict with very flimsy evidence. To your point - in the future cases were overturned by DNA ruling them out illustrating how broken the justice system is.
To me this is all terrible because I happen to have a very strong sense of right and wrong. Sending an innocent guy to jail really upsets me. Not sending a guilty guy is almost as bad. When I read that I think it was Texas put a man to death over what turned out to be junk science from Florida, that just stays with you. The man was innocent.
Let us build nuclear again and recycle the waste like we should. It was a stupid Carter administration decision to not recycle thinking others wouldn't. They did anyway and we never did. Block the stupid people like Greenpeace that stop new projects.
We won't be a footnote any time soon. We are back at #1 GDP for the first time in years.
Not talking about that. If you want to fire up an FM transmitter like we used to do in the 1970s that had a 9 volt battery and had a range of about 100-200', I don't think you'll get into trouble. On the other hand if you put that transmitter into a politicians office, they may find laws like this to hit you with.
Yeah, 17 indictments and 5 guilty pleas but it's a witch hunt. All in about a year less time than the Benghazi investigation which netted zero indictments let alone any pleas. It's really falling apart.
and none of them about Russia or Collusion, which isn't even a crime. Think it is? Show me. Show me in the law where it's illegal. Good luck with that. Read the IG report. It is a witch hunt. Mueller is known for prosecutorial misconduct. Bring in some cases fake charges to see if he can get what he wants. There's nothing to get so he continues to come up dry. In the Manifort case? That's a 2004 rug deal. Yea, a rug deal. Let's look into Democrats like this, see what happens.
As for the Benghazi investigation, same deep state that is doing the BS with Trump kept her safe. Read the report, they decided they weren't going to charge her before they even saw any of the evidence. With Trump they're making crap up, like the fake dossier that Hillary's campaign paid for and Republicans had nothing to do with. Saying they did was another big lie.
Bottom line is if you or I did what she did with the secret docs, we'd be in jail right now. No doubt about it. So should she.
People are so sue happy. You showed up late, dishevelled and got smart with us. Next think we know, excuses come about. Their mother died that day, no not the one from last week, their real mother this time. Had a flat on the way in... and so on and so forth.
I had one guy that I felt like I needed to take a shower when he left. Man, that guy was so full of shit. The other managers felt the same way.
So now we usually simply say - you were not a fit to the position we are hiring for. We're contractors so it also helps the customer too. They didn't do the interview. No racist bullshit, sexist bullshit or anything like that on their part.
It is investing, if you know what you're doing. I make 50% a year on the stock market and I've done that every year for the 4 years. Not hard. You need to know what you're doing. Otherwise, just sit at a blackjack table or roulette wheel. At least you'll be entertained while you lose your money.
They're a saying. As long as it's indicted, they'll convict a ham sandwich of murder. Just remember, the people that hold your future in their hands are people that were not smart enough to get out of jury duty. They also don't want to be there and they'll assume you're guilty. You were indicted after all and that nice prosecutor wouldn't think of indicting anyone that wasn't guilty. Would they? Happens all the time.
Good case of that was the Mike Tyson trial. The man acted like a caged animal in the court room and that's why he was convicted. There is no doubt in my mind he was innocent.
OJ on the other hand, IMHO - he was clearly guilty and I think everyone knows it.
I'd be happy if they would just wash them in the first place. Seems like a lot of WHITE MEN are not washing their hands. I don't recall a black, asian men not washing their hands after crapping! Just white men. I politely remind them... then not so politely. WASH YOUR HANDS MAN! NOBODY WANTS YOUR CRAP. I DON'T CARE HOW CAREFUL YOU WERE, THERE IS CRAP ON THEM. Seems like they're all liberals. Dumbasses.
If only there was a way to cheat death by getting up a bit later on that Sunday.
You may die later, however you will die either way.
Two things are for sure in life. Death and taxes. Unless you're Al Sharpton. Then you get away with not paying your taxes somehow.
I'm surprised they even mentioned CRTs. I used to salvage gold from computer circuit boards. Enough to put me through college and then some. Sometimes it seemed like slave labour. After watching Gold Rush, I don't think I had it so bad.
Here's a 1920s era plant that's reopening thanks to Trump. They were going to open a new plant in India -

The left almost ruined out steel industry.
So do you have any actual proof about the EPA not caring or is your opinion all based on what the main stream media has told you to believe?

How about search being able to search. I never had this problem with Lotus Notes or a real mail client like Evolution or Thunderbird.
They have theatres now that you can chose your seat. I can do it from my own home. Buy the ticket, seat online and it's there waiting for me.

And with a *model* of a bomb, you can blow up... what, exactly??
A model of a city.

It's becoming hell in England. Cameras everywhere. Big nanny there to catch you.
Nothing we could do to stop it though.
The egg came first.

They had one in Southern Maryland. Right on 98.3. It was some Baptist Preacher. The FCC found him and put him out of business.
Those are safe. They needed more disk for Windows 10 and deleting all that stuff there was just enough space.

OMG, I had no idea and I thought I knew all of their work. However I still love to hear Sarah sing. Hot chick.
I would have loved to be in the audience for the Queen show. Looks like they really put in the time to do it right with a big band.
No statute of limitations on murder.
