Once I locked myself outside in the middle of a lighting storm. Fortunately I had my wits about me so I grabbed a big piece of sheet metal and sheltered under the biggest tree I could find.
In retrospect it was a good thing I had the metal as the tree was hit and a whole branch fell off. Something told me this was a special piece of wood, wood I could make a base ball bat out of.. Well long story short I called it wonderbat and used it to help my company baseball team win!
You know if excess CO2 caused global cooling we would all ride on bio-fule powered public transport/telecommute, however seeing as most of us would like a warmer summer (In the South of England this is a very real desire) we are not as worried.
FIRE! duh, duh derr I take you to burn
FIRE! duh, duh derr Dell takes you to learn
I'll see you burn!
You fought hard and you saved and earned
But now you laptops going to burn
And your mind, your tiny mind
You know you know fumes will make you blind
Now 's your time, burn your mind
You're falling far too far behind
Oh no, oh no, oh no, you're gonna burn
and so on....
BTW the dell looks a lot like my Insperion 5150, which has developed a fault with the internal power systems (apply preasure to the front left bellow the keyboard to make it spack out and reset/loose power)
Anyone everthought to pump said waste heat round a building to either heat water/rooms/divert to the handryers in the loos(or bathrooms. Although I have never had a bath at work whay are they called bathrooms when there is no bath in them!?)?
Actualy if he could of reached an agreement with several companies to use spare bandwidth during off peak (for a nominal feee, hey it's money for old rope)hours he could of done it legaly.
wouldn't it be nice if there was an install option that would add all the files your apps/games require but just not use them all the time, IE do we really need Alpha Blending on a desktop? Do we need Active desktop and whizzy things that look nice but serve very little function.
I for one would welcome [our] a streamlined [overlords]OS. [ducks]
How long will it be before someone goes on Pimp my WMD and has their ballistic missile chrome plated and polished to a nice laser reflective mirror finish?
Mind you shouldn't we have stealth missiles by now?
It would seem it was only the areosole that caused the re-action, my guess is that when spreyed via an areosole more of the nano-particles endup in the atmosphere in the cloud of atomised solution, where as a hand spray tends to have a larger droplet size and less nano material is left floating.
I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay

Okay heres a thought for the enterprising uni-students out here (I have a job and no free time so it's up to the graduates to solve this one). why not write a seti@home-esk bit of software that can be deployed on university desktops/servers (WIN/MAC/*nix) that can run whole/segments of custom written programmes. Imagine the power of every uni-desktop all running together in parralle! Plus you get constant free upgrades. The solution would need it's own c++/java esk language for the tasks to be written in, some kind of local administration to allow uni admins to schedule processesing if it is incovenient to run during the day and some kind of security to stop people writing DDOS programes... anyway worth a thought.
I kinda reconed on them putting say 8Gb (4x2Gb Internal SD's), I doubt the likely hood of an extra £200 on the price tag would of greatly troubled the buyer.
On a side note I think the reason these robots are being developed for the Japanese market is not just down to a reluctance to accept foreign workers but more to do with the fact that elderly japanes people are very light. With a (future) maximum load of 70Kg you'd need an army to care for an obease Seppo* or Europian.
Several post have mentioned that simply becoming more reliant on nuclear power for our electrical needs wont really reduce our carbon emissions that much, this is only partly true.
Coal/Oil/Gas stations would by definition produce more CO2 than a Nuclear station, however the big Carbon saving comes from nuclear vehicles(okay stay with me). By nuclear cars I actually refer to a hydrogen (or similar) vehicle that has its fuel create by nuclear power (i.e. Electrolysis). If 25% of the US and Europe's cars all switched to this virtually carbon free energy source then we would see some serious carbon reduction.
The End the world is getting like the Windows 95 release date.
The end of the world is now.... okay it'll be here soon... alright were pushing it back few years....
I beleave the end of the world is just a way of manipulating hearts and minds, after all who wants to be on the wrong side during the appocalypse?
BTW how does this person thing RFID tags will cause the end of the world?? "Bwahahaha I am satan behold my dark powers for I know for the RFID tag that you are low on jam, tremble as I remove all the jam from the Earth and cast it into the sun! There will be no more jam and you will have to use peanut butter for all eternity! Bwhahahahahah!"
A wacking great DC supply to power a server room is a good idea as one big converter has got to be more effecient than many smaller ones, also as previously mentioned it will reduce server room clutter and remove the need for inverters in the UPS as 6/12V goes very nicely into 48V. Some people seem to be having an issue with the low voltage high loss in teh cabloes but this could be overcome with bigger cables (buzz bar?) and the fact that the power only has to travel maybe 200m tops.

I want a dual core version! That way I'll be able to play Duke Nuke Em Forever on Windows Vista.

Still it makes for an interesting concern.

Hey man it's not fair to mock my lexdisia.. (perhaps I should spend more time on spellcheck and less on legends of norrath)
