    Because the 3rd world is the only option to paying our level of taxes. I mean, the US was a 3rd world country until we arrived at our current tax rates.

    I know of no libertarian that argues we should pay no taxes. They just don't want to fund roles that they don't believe the government should fulfill. The roles that they do think government should fulfill would keep a country safely out of the category of 3rd world.

    Perhaps you meant pseudo intellectual anarchists.

    I'm going to assume that each website had a terms of use of some sort that would probably frown on such behavior and effectively be asking those involved in something like DDoS "to leave". Don't know that I agree that such a piece of text, buried in a page nobody visits, should be legally binding... but the lawyers did put it there for that purpose.

    Those children might have a bit of trouble using that laptop if the Taliban or similar Islamist groups again control the country. I'm not a big fan of ends-based ethics, so I don't want to make a case supporting the war. It is a bit unrealistic, however, that the lack of the US fighting the war would mean that the lives of these children would be substantially better and that even if that money could be made available for a program like this any of the children would actually see or use the computer.

    Actually, I'm pretty sure there have been mild success communicating with other primates with sign language. I tell my dog to sit and spin around. However, every species we've discovered has only a limited understanding and at most a very basic "language".

    We aren't assuming. There has been decades (at the very least) of research.

    Right, decisions of ones life are too much a responsibility. Clearly, the call should be made by enlightened doctors, administrator, and politicians. That will be a relief when they tell me that I am just going to have to quite now. I know I would be much happier if I didn't have to put up with the stress of making the decision and knew I was going to die based of the decision of a comity who calculated the value of my life.
