well, I googled a few resources. here's one... here's another It seems that I need to download extra programs, which is insane. Thx for the encouragement anyways:)
Does Ubuntu work with 5-button mice? I've been having a devil of a time with XandrOS 3, there are about a million files to edit and a script and other crap, and it still won't work properly. As soon as Linux figures out that mice have 5 buttons, it'll be ready for the desktop. I've yet to see a single one work right without a ton of work.
Hey, Windows Vista offers safer audio and safer video! Aren't these the features we've been crying out for? No other OS offers these beautiful features:)
(don't gag and/or vomit while reading that link, plz be careful!)
try ncix.com, they are pretty honest and actively foster customer participation with incentives.. they give shitty customer service over the phone, but at least they're honest about their products.
whoops, also forgot to get into the whys and hows of Trolltech (fruit of satan's loins) and non-freedom in the QT toolkit. thanks for the tips slashy:)
"They speculate that the new iBooks might have a widescreen display. I sure hope they are right! I've been waiting to buy one of those suckers for half a year now!"
Well, nearly every slashdotter has been waiting to buy one of these suckers for half the price already. Maybe in half a year they'll be half-price? when Intel speculation finally grabs hold?
There's a humongous difference between an unmanaged desktop on your home computer, and a networked school setup wherein each machine must be locked down and centrally managed. Plus, if you RTFA (or even the synopsis) the schools are getting a good discount on Novell software already in widespread use.
anybody throwing away a PC (ostensibly because of spyware) was probably looking for a new computer for other reasons too. Any hardware that old would have to run a pretty old version of Linux (or at least the desktop environments) to be even slightly usable. Macs still cost too much for most people. For $100 less than the price of a Mac Mini, you can get a 3GHz P4 from Dell with a 15" LCD screen. Did you know that using Firefox instead of IE can keep most Windows installations spyware-free?
-system power ON, CPU test -chipset initialization -memory test -decompress BIOS image to RAM for faster booting -init keyboard controller -test VGA BIOS -processor initialization -real-time clock test -initialize video interface BIOS sign on -ISA resource assignation -init hard drive controllers -boot attempt via INT 19
That's just the easily testable stuff, there's plenty more tho:)
they don't need to make it truly web-based if they only want to cater to 99% of the population. I certainly hate web-based applications of this complexity, and I don't blame the Aussies for doing what they did.

more importantly, at 1064.18 C could I use a solid gold liquid lens? That's more the technology we masses need.
ahh, thoughts of dvddecrypter & DVDshrink came here..
more importantly, when will OSX Tiger be seen running in VMware on this x86 emulator? I peed myself thinking about it.
yes, it feels somehow better to contribute something in OGG. I'm proud to be a part of TFA's headline.

he will be mourned until respawn, where his least loyal followers are camping. goodbye, John!
if they keep going with this train of thought, why stop at the Monad? Kill Internet Explorer! Kill Outlook! Go go go!

I read it as "Aging slut applies more makeup" instead of "Preview of KDE 3.5." Does that make me a GNOME zealot? Anybody?
Then again, they could just be control freaks for the sake of being control freaks.
You mean like crippling perfectly good graphics cards? Pardon me, i meant "disabling features for product positioning purposes."
i dunno about you, but i'm nearly naked right now :) that's one compelling chip, amigo
yeah, I won't believe it either until I see some slashdot UID above 3 million.

How about Direct to Download?
wow, they already granted your wish!
it's fantastic quality & the language is English, in case you're wondering..
a typical boot process goes like this:
:)
-system power ON, CPU test
-chipset initialization
-memory test
-decompress BIOS image to RAM for faster booting
-init keyboard controller
-test VGA BIOS
-processor initialization
-real-time clock test
-initialize video interface
BIOS sign on

all i ever hear is whining about windows here! ;)
luckily the navy is only an O-class diesel sub & the army is a few kids with freeze-resistant M16s (automatic mode disabled, for safety reasons)
