don't need to. My argument was specifically scoped to deal with hypotheticals surrounding piracy and nothing else. *points to phrase "hypothetical when used in terms of piracy"* Your question is out of scope of my argument.
Apparently people are reading my response completely 180 degrees opposite of my intent. My intent is not to advocate piracy in any way, i'm just trying to point out that alot of the arguments for opportunity cost are very poor. My argument was to state that people use hypothetical questions too seriously (when all they are is a thought experiment, i.e., just a "What If" question/statement, and therefore should cary very little if any legal weight unless proven true, in the exact way that any actual thought experient works). Additionally, up to present, most opportunity cost arguments (at least ones i've heard) were all purely hypothetical when used in terms of piracy, and were therefore easily discountable.
But isn't opportunity cost just code for hypothetical questions? Last time I checked, hypotheticals have no weight because they are exactly that, hypothetical...
"Hypothetically if he wasnt a thief, and hypothetically if he had morals, and hypothetically if he had money, he may or may not have purchased that game..."
Hypothetically they should be paying me cause hypothetically i'm the owner of the business... see, gets kinda silly quick.
Opportunity cost is a sham and should be discounted, becuase the opportunity to make money never existed, it only hypothetically did.
Correct, especially when the natural gas could be contained within the limestone itself, thus unlocking it during processing. It would technically be possible to have more energy unlocked than it took to unlock it. However, it still took as much energy to put it there in the first place, however that was all done by biological and geological processes millions of years ago.
I'm sorry, but what exactly is he stating that isnt already in software development 101? You're suposed to work hand-in-hand with your customer as you develop software, how else can you even guarantee that you meet a modicum of their need? If they are not willing to spend the time with your developers as the solution progresses, then the customer really doesnt care about what they 'want' or you're working with the wrong person/people.
he never said it was a security policy, just an advantage. If you're less likely to be attacked, that is a small advantage. Sure, you're still not safe, but at least you're not a blanket target.
Considering the powerful magnetic fields involved in order to contain the "plasma blade" and due to the way similar poles repel eachother, I dont see why plasma-based "light sabres" couldnt block one-another, since it would all be magnetic field interactions. The only downside is that this would likely cause the plasma-blade part of the device to fail somehow, unless there was some sort of stability mechanism to counter the other blades magnetic interference. Otherwise you'd end up with something like the Schwartz battle in Space Balls. This also doesnt go into the folly that your handle-section would be likely pulled right into your enemies blade-section from 20+ feet away...
One thing you may want to look out for, if you are into the space based MMOs, is a game from a new developer working for NCSoft. Spacetime Studios is working on the new MMO, and everything is pointing to it being space-based. With EVE being the only real space-based MMO since EA sucked the life out of Earth and Beyond and killed it, it should be interesting to see what happens.
The gameplay is good, its the story that has suffered though in my opinion. Its the worst story of the series(not better than VIII, but not worse than X-2). It feels rushed and empty compared to the other games. Then there is the ending, which left me with a big 'IS THAT IT?! THATS THE ENDING?! WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF THE GAME?!?!' FF12 is good in the gameplay department, but dont expect a story better than 10,9,8,7,6,5, or 4. If this game were not a FF game, it would still be praised for gameplay, but lambasted for the story, instead of the overlook which reviewers give it now.
I just find it hillarious about him complaining about things that dont even happen in the game. People who have played demos of the game say its not even close to what Jack is raging about. YOU ARE NOT A BULLY! Your character stands up to the bullies and defends the weak... what is so wrong about that Jack?
No, the first one also sucked balls as well... Except it knew how to suck your balls, and massage them as well... the second one was completely inept at sucking balls... it was a ball sucking virgin...
On the other hand, they probably have the ability to assemble the machines pretty fast. The problem is that the manufacturing of some components (such as the Cell processor) wouldn't be able to keep pace with the assemblage process, and so it makes sence to wait with assembling until there is a good stockpile of components to be assembled.
Exactly. It can take several weeks to a month or more to turn one silicon wafer into several working computer chips(Fabrication is slow and tedious). I cannot see microchip fabrication able to keep up with the demand of highspeed assembly easily, especialy with their yeild issues. Perhaps after they fix the problem, and the yields come back up, full blown chip production could keep up, but it will take about a month after the fix to see the results.
Of course! Woe be unto thee whom sells a product at sligtly higher than cost to recoup ones losses. A terror I say! Wait... hold on a second... logic just flew out the window and I have to go chase it. Toodles!
I thought the fact that it tastes like carbonated styrofoam water gave it away... no, im not a miller/budweiser fan... all american beers taste like carbonated water... its just a fact...
If there was a vote for impeachment that the public could vote in, I would vote. But the only things I can do, is spread the word, and send a letter to my congressman. Then hope my congressman helps set up the process for impeachment. So, technically, the only way this is going to get started is if my congressman wants to discipline the president. Otherwise, everything I do and say is for naught.
what you are talking about is called pre-render scene backface culling. They purposefully remove the backfaces (sides you cannot see) so your computer doenst have to render them, thus increasing performance. All GOOD developers practice culling in some form. Its the inexperienced developers that dont do it. You can easily tell if a game doesnt implement on-the-fly backface culling if you are facing a relatively simple geometry with it filling the screen, and you start to notice performance degredation. If they did implement it, no degredation would be noticed, since all your system would be rendering is what is directly infront of you. But the performance loss comes from the game tyring to render everything you cant see.

well, thats just the arenas. the BGs are 10,15,20,40ish players i believe. So thats fairly involved.
For a second I though you meant the Parmesianians and curiously had a craving for italian food.

Seriously, he's just stating the obvious...
They shouldnt be any worse than the existing DLP displays which are quite thin since they both utilize similar technology: scanning micro mirrors.
beware my wiki skills ;D

When you have so many paranoid loonies out there who think your machine will end the world... It is legitimate to assume it is all sabotage.

Neither did Linux, or are those thousands of helpful Open Source coders considered purely immaginary.
P.S. - this isnt an attack at linux, just showing you a flaw in your argument.
