"Console gamers get consoles because they can't deal with installing video card drivers."
Nope, console gamers buy consoles because they offer games that dont appear on the PC and/or dont have the money to buy a pc gaming rig. $1200+ (im talking building from the ground up with reliable and decent parts) to just start getting a decent computer together usualy isnt as justifiable as spending ($100:GC, $130:DS, $150:PS2/Xbox, $200:PSP, $400:360) for a console of some sort.
And thats why you never use any form of identification that ties you to the real world on the internet, unless you are making legal purchases or conducting normal transactions(ex: ebay, amazon, or newegg). You create fake personas, and you use those fake personas when you want to remain anonymous. Then again, im not stupid enough to post possible incriminating evidence onto a moronic site like facebook or myspace...
Yea, geting certain spells before you 'learn' them was a great way to increase your longevity. Especialy when you found the mantorok rune. Then you could regen all 3 pools at once, and make your weapon effective against any type of monster. It was the one rune you always wanted to get A.S.A.P., but could only get it with that indiana jones look-alike guy.
While I can understand where you are comming from, it will be a long time before someone releases a virus that can attack 3 different architectures at the same time. Even viruses that attack two different operating systems on the same harware architecture are rare. One that attacks 3 different operating systems, on 3 different architectures would be very difficult to write at best. Im not saying that it cant be done, but I am saying I dont expect the average virus coder will want to undertake such a challenge.
Actualy, all you have to do, if you have already killed a quest mob, is to bring them back to life. There is a command you can use in the console that will resurect a selected creature or npc. I cant remember it off the top of my head, but it should be listed in http://www.gamefaqs.com/
However, if you are playing the xbox360 version, you're screwed...
There IS a workaround to the corrupted saves that I found:
1. start a new game
2. when in the character creator, access the load menu, and load your 'corrupted' game
3. play your game from your 'corrupted' save.
The saves are not actualy fully corrupted. They just have an issue with their primary load. If you load the save, from an already running game, a full load is not needed, and you skip past the 'corrupted' section of the save.
SuperFX... I completely forgot about that... I wonder if the emulator would be true-to-snes or actualy give improved framerate. It would be great to play a game of Stunt Race Fx without the horrible framerate that went with it. Which also makes me wonder if they would include some of their unfinished games, like StarFox 2.
Yea, its great how it messes with your head. I've had it mess with me in various ways. Once when I was saving my game it acted like it locked up, and then complained about corrupted game saves, then saying it was re-formating the memory card... Its also done some other interesting things like make my character explode at random times for apparently no reason other than my sanity was low. Sometimes it will act like someone accidently changes the video input (which got me a few times because my tv used the exact same font the game used). There are litteraly dozens of things it does to mess with your head. If you can find youself a copy, buy it, its worth it. Especialy if you are a fan of H.P. Lovecraft, because its very similar to his stories.
No, I think the message of the body is valid. The title poses the question, "Did microsoft start off too fast/early?" In the message he gives some reasons as why launching first wasnt necessarily a bad idea. Of course, only time will determine whether it was a smart idea and we should know almost for certain in 2-3 years.
"It's possibly a regional difference, but you never hear people use "wee" to mean urine or penis or anything else like that around here. If you think the name is going to hurt the system either way, though, you're just being an idiot. Have you ever stopped to consider that it might be people such as yourself who give Nintendo their "kiddie" image?"
The reason people associate 'Wii' with 'Wee' is because of the double 'i'. If it were 'Wi' or even blatently 'We', then I doubt the association would be made, or the backlash would be much less extensive. Did nintendo make a bad name choice? Possibly. Did they properly test market the name in foreign markets? Obviously no, or we wouldnt be having this discussion. Wii only has bad connotations in the english language, other languages dont have issues with it. But when when one of the largest markets for entertainment products speaks english as its 1st language, its a good idea to create a trademark name with as little negative connotation as possible.
Additionaly, I have supported nintendo for 20 years. I have NEVER called it a 'kiddie' company personaly. But they have aquired a 'kiddie' image from PR mistakes, design choices, and because of developers treating it as a pariah when trying to market mature titles. Nintendo's 'kiddie' image lies not only in its hands, but unwelcoming consumers, and jaded developers as well.
"Grow up."
I have shown my maturity by only criticizing your ideas, and not you personally, perhaps you are the one who should 'Grow Up'.
Im guessing english isnt your first language? I am a nintendo fan, but when I heard they renamed the console to Wii... I was horrified. I thought nintendo was doing everything right, they were going to shake their kiddie immage and get some much needed 3rd party support for their console, but then they @*(&ed it all up with the name change. I understand their reasoning for naming it Wii, but there are MUCH better names out there. The only way that nintendo will be able to survive this new name in english speaking countries is if the gameplay is all they touted it to be, and more. Until it proves itself, nobody can take the... Wii... seriously.
Well, enforcement doesnt necessarily mean denial of the product. It just means that the retailers must make sure that those who purchase the product are aware of the rating of that product. Which is basicaly just positioning the retailer into a position of no fault when it comes to the product's content.
A rating system is only as good as those who enforce and follow it. So there is nothing wrong with the ESRB, its just that it isnt followed by purchasers and some stores just wont enforce it.
Well, it is a horror movie. Based off of a game no less. I went in only expecting some interesting style and not much of a plotline. I wasnt disapointed. I only consider the movie good, because at the time I went in, I got exactly what I wanted: a cheesy horror movie with a decent atmosphere and ok, but not horrible acting.
Seriously though, when my friend and I went to see it, we expected Uwe Boll to show up on screen and taunt us as the doors all locked saying "You Fools! HAHAHAHAHAHA! You Are Mine! Watch and Dispair!"
true, but when I channel-surf I surf over the channels with commercials, looking for shows that are running at that moment. Perhaps I'm just odd that I do it this way, maybe not. Either way, if the commercial flag is mandated, it still will piss me off... =)
Well if this were to happen. I would be one of the first to make a counter hardware device that sits between the cable box and the tv that switches that flag off in the signal. For the flag to work, it would have to sit in a predictible place in the signal's bit-stream, so you just make a tv commercial-flag-bridge to take the signal in, modify the flag, and spit it out. That way the tv would always think it was on a show, and never in a commercial.
Even so, I highly doubt this would happen. If it did, nobody would buy that tv, and even then, if it were mandated that all tv's carry the comerical tech, you will watch online pirating of the shows skyrocket as they are imported from other countries who show the same shows and dont mandate the commercial-flag, so they can get their shows commercial free.
If you dont think this would piss people off, think of this: You are channel-surfing for something good to come on. Lets say you are just moving up the channels to see if there is anything good on. Well, if some of those stations are showing commercials, you will be forced to watch them before you are allowed to continue looking for content. That would piss me off, and there is a good chance it would piss others off as well.
But there is one good thing it would do. Make people stop watching tv in the first place. I havent seen anything truely worth watching in years.
Weight has to do with your caloric intake and how much your body burns. It has very little to do with what exact food you eat. 'Unhealthy' foods just tend to be higher in calories than their 'healthy' cousins. Considering an average persons daily calorie burn just to keep you alive is 2000, and jogging for a full hour only burns 400ish calories, one meal from BK or Mcdonalds alone would take at least 5 hours of straight, uninterrupted jogging to burn off, or you would have to eat nothing else the entire day. If you dont burn it off, all it takes is an additional 3500 calories (over a period of about a week) to gain yourself 1 lb of fat. And as such, if you eat less so that there is a 3500 calorie deficit in your weekly diet, you will loose 1 lb of fat.
Because of that, its no supprise your father is overweight. But its not because your eating organic and he isnt.
Yes, they own the rights to Goldeneye, but they dont own the rights to distribute a for-profit James Bond game (EA holds those rights). While they could release it for free and get around that, I dont think they want to.
Its not realy similar at all to reactive armor... Its more like a miniature Phalanx system that uses a shotgun instead of a gattling gun. That still doesnt take away its cool factor though.
There is a way around the 'corrupted' gamesaves issue. Load up a new game and then load the save. The save only seems to have problems when loading from startup, but if you load it from in-game, it has no problems. I tried posting it on the Elderscrolls messageboard as a work-around but the board goes by so fast nobody saw it. Even so, an error THAT blatent shouldnt be in the released product.
There is always OpenGL... but... its kinda lacking compared to DX9... I dont want to poo poo OpenGL, because its a good graphics language, but they really need to get their act together if they want people to use it over DX9 without having to add a bunch of their own architecture code to make up for its deficiencies.

That is what the Wii Condom is for.
Wii Condom: Protecting you from all the nasty Wii Viruses since 2006.

Tell me, what are these 'girls' you speak of? Is it some trendy new slang, perhaps for an intoxicating herb?

Well then I guess you have nothing to worry about, because Sin was destroyed by Tidus and Yuna in 2001 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mythology_of_Final_Fa ntasy_X#The_history_of_Spira/

Do I get a cookie?
