+/- 50 degrees isn't going to ruin your dinner. What IS critical is stirring technique. I doubt I'd get much use out of RFID cookware.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that they are currently only offering the Windows version as a free download (despite that fact that their screen shots depict the Mac OS X build).
They probably secured the deal just in case things get off to a rough start with Intel. Furthermore, bet they'll need a few extra G4 chips for future hardware repairs. The deal doesn't say that they WILL buy the chips - just they CAN buy the chips if they need them.
