We need to give history time to settle. Personally I am of the opinion we can't even write good history yet on Carter.

He could have avoided the whole thing and saved a ton of money by:

    1. paying of the lawsuit, this means going to the court house and submitting the money asked for. No pleading guilty or not. This action satisfies the legal requirements.
    2. going on TV and saying he is the POTUS and cannot be distracted by dumb stuff.

The point is not that he banged another woman. But that he lied under oath.

  8. Value based on GROSS revenues on If IP Is Property, Where Is the Property Tax? · · Score: 1

This is quite simple actually. The value is based on the gross revenues (or income) of the company or the person.

    So for example:
I make under 100,000 USD per year, I pay $10 per item to be kept as IP.

    A Second example:
    I make 1,000,000 I pay $1,000 USD per year.

    A third example:
I make 35B (Disney COrp) in USD in revenue I would need to pay $200,000 per year per item under IP.
Sony makes 26B last year: 100,000 USD per song and 200,000 per movie

This would make the tax the rich people happy.
And the money would need to be divided between all the states and DC.

Most of what you are talking about was phased out in the 1980s.

Yes, there are some subsidies for an ethonal plant to buy more corn, but that is a part of the fuel subsidies.

There are some subsidies given to farm owners not to grow crops and have the land return to natural state. In which if these ended then a lot of area that has rivers, lakes, wetlands, open plaines area, and other assorted types of land will be farmed again. Oh yeah, most farmers will make more money farming. This is not a farming subsidies, per se, this is to make America more beautiful.

So most of what people talk about of farm subsidies have been gone for over 2 decades from the Reagan era.

Can the Indian Nation defend itself in case of a real attack? Not really.
Is the Indian Nation subject to certain US laws? Yes.
Can the Indian Nation make a treaty with another country, say Germany? No.
Does any Indian Nation have a seat at the UN? No (or at least I do not think so)
Does the Indian Nation receive subisdy from the larger host government? Yes.

An Indian Nation is not truly sovereign, no matter how you cut it. They have some things that make it look like they are sovereign.

Therfore, this whole arguement is moot. Now they could charge through the nose for a cell company to install a tower. That will only raise the rates for thier memebers.

Therefore, anyhing goes. Oh and for the record this state of emergancy was not declared by Bush, though he has his.

    http://www.barefootsworld.net/war_ep.html quoting a congressional report:

"Since March 9, 1933, the United States has been in a state of declared national emergency. In fact, there are now in effect four presidentially proclaimed states of national emergency: In addition to the national emergency declared by President Roosevelt in 1933, there are also the national emergency proclaimed by President Truman on December 16, 1950, during the Korean conflict, and the states of national emergency declared by President Nixon on March 23, 1970, and August 15, 1971.

These proclamations give force to 470 provisions of Federal law [hundreds more since 1973, particularly in the Clinton administration since Jan 21, 1993]. These hundreds of statutes delegate to the President extraordinary powers, ordinarily exercised by the Congress, which affect the lives of American citizens in a host of all-encompassing manners. This vast range of powers, taken together, confer enough authority to rule the country without reference to normal Constitutional processes.

Under the powers delegated by these statutes, the President may: seize property; organize and control the means of production; seize commodities; assign military forces abroad; institute martial law; seize and control all transportation and communication; regulate the operation of private enterprise; restrict travel; and, in a plethora of particular ways, control the lives of all American citizens."

Any chance we are going to get this state of emergancy gone? Democrats will not do it, Republicans will not do it. The those in power in the government will do whatever they can to maintain power. One does not work for years to get to the reigns of power to set them down.
