According to this story It was the MPAA that was behind the raid. After being contacted by the MPAA, the US government got into talks with the swedish ministry for foreign affairs here in Sweden.
The ministry of justice contacted police and prosecutors, but they didn't want to do anything since the legal issues here are unclear. So the ministry of justice contacted the national police chief and got orders to raid the server hall.
The legality of the operation is highly questionable and borders on ministerstyre, whatever that would be called in english, it means that ministers tell government agencies what to do or how to interpret laws. This is illegal in Sweden.
As the summary says, a lot of these asian mmogs let people buy in-game items instead. I like the kind of games where people put time rather than money into it to get more out of it.
I think most of us here are savvy enough to know that the PS3 controller is going to be far inferior to the Nintendo's "Wii-mote". Yet, how many of your regular consumers are going to know the difference?
So please tell me how you know this controller will be worse? And to all the nintendo heads claiming you knew Sony was going to copy the controller: You're only making fools of yourselves, you didn't know one thing about it.
I don't like the fact that they did this with the controller, it's not a feature I would like, but I don't think Sony made it like that to make the wii remote seem tacky. I think Sony seriously think this is a good idea, which it is not.
Sony does not need to say "me too!", they have a big fanbase and they will buy the PS3 regardless of uninteresting crappy features, there will still be more games for it than the other consoles.
This would not work for multiplayer games, what if two people playing the same game have two different physics cards?
The world would behave differently for them, and we'd have serious sync issues.
No I'm not trolling. I'll admit I live in Sweden, in a town not designed for driving. We have 40k students out of 130k inhabitants, so a lot of people don't use a car. Anyway, I'd hate having to look for and pay for a new parking spot just to go a mile away.
Twitch is what it's all about! I wouldn't want to watch a match and see the characters just stand there waiting for input, we need to have SOME fast games.
Nintendo-heads are allways fast to point out that everything is about the games, and them being fun to play. It's not about simulating reality, this controller seems to want to do just that. I can see this controller as a gimmick at most, kind of like the eye-toy, it's fun to play every now and then but I wouldn't want every game to use it. Input like that is not fast enough for a lot of games, and I don't even want to think about the ergonomics when you're holding your arm in front of you for that long.
No, it wouldn't work in fighting games. Gestures like that would be way too slow. When you have moves that take only a few frames to perform you would not want to be waving your arm about like a maniac. This controller may work with fishing games and the like, but it wouldn't do anything good in fast paced games.
I was under the impression that Gentoo existed to be flexible and allow you to do things the way you wanted to without the distro tools getting in the way. Compiling everything and your uncle is not what helps you do what you want with your computer. I don't think you'll get a 10% speed increase from compiling everything instead of using generic binaries.
It's the content providers who screw things up, the the cell phone makers. I've worked with handling their requirements for a phone manufacturer, all of the service providers have weird requirements. I'd never buy a phone with a service plan, I always get them unencumbered.
They did change the definition, 1 was considered a prime for quite a long time.
But the Fundamental theorem of arithmetic doesn't really work with one as a prime, and it brings other complications as well.
But why ask Blizzard? They didn't go and make a global mmo now did they? I like how I can party with people from all over the world when grinding, it makes it more interesting. The ping is just FUD, it works fine for a MMORPG. The updates are a little bit messy, but that has nothing to do with the global thing here. Twice each month I can't get into the game for patching reasons, how often do you have to wait in line to get to grind in WoW?
It's funny, because this feature is in Quake III. Projectiles will spawn with the same speed and direction you have when firing them. It's not on by default though, and I don't think people enable it because it seriously messes up aiming with the rocket launcher.
From Nintendo's Revolution website: "Revolution will play all of your favorite Nintendo GameCube games, and deliver downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favorite titles originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)."
Yeah, it really sounds like they are innovating here. Do you know anything at all about the Revolution, except for the old games and the new controller?
Excuse me? I take offense to that.
We have perfectly good medical and technological research here in Sweden.
Just because you are at the cutting edge of research about viagra and weapons of mass destruction, that does not mean you are carrying the lion's share of the technological development.
And quite frankly your not doing too well in the entertainment development either.
But it's not promising anything new, the controller will probably be too weird to develop for and will go the way of other weird console accessories.
The games will be the same old Nintendo branded titles and the usual multi platform games.
but you didn't get four titles a year, you got like four titles total.
People need to stop elevating Nintendo so much.
The revolution has a neat controller option, so what? The games are not magically made innovative because of it. And you don't know SHIT about the console or it's games.
I'm running Opera 8.51, and everything is working smoothly.
Perhaps you should try browsing with a NON-BETA BROWSER before you start complaining.

It is.
Everybody else will not be selling different controllers with each game.

haha, who takes a car to go one mile? I've heard about americans driving everywhere but this has to be made up?

What kind of cars do you have over there?
I get 30 miles per gallon in the old car I'm driving, my father's new car gets 40 miles per gallon.

hmm, mac os is at 10.5 soon, wonder what they'll do after 10.9...

The insecure smiley? :/
Every store I've been in here in sweden has them. It doewn't look like it's short in stock over here.

If it were not for all the retards eating antibiotics all the time we wouldn't need new kinds.
