Hate to ruin the fun, but that little icon isn't for RSS feeds.
It's for Firefox's Live Bookmark feature.
Everyone was complaining about how you should use a more obvious icon for RSS feeds, but in fact... most people do. Firefox doesn't have an icon. Its built-in RSS reader is its Live Bookmark feature, which is what the icon is for.
...even if the banks are not directly responsible. This action obviously will not stem identity theft...
In other news, Grokster has been shut down for music piracy. Though Grokster was not directly responsible, its products could be used to illegally share copyrighted files. However, piracy continues to flourish with other P2P clients.
For crying out loud, people, they haven't named it Buffy! That's just what the people who discovered it called it! They'll probably change it to something more fitting in a while. In the meantime, you don't have to call it Buffy.
internet publishing would harm the exchange of knowledge
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Ha! Harm? Why do they think that the Internet was invented? (Okay, so it wasn't invented, technically, but you get the idea) For the purpose of making information widely available! Why only publish in journals, which you have to subscribe to? What if you don't live near where the journal is published? Why should you miss out? Why do they think it will harm exchange of knowledge? People often go around the world in the name of science--with the Internet, their findings can be reported almost instantly! In fact, getting information between scientists, other scientists, and the public would happen faster than ever!
The Internet is here for this purpose--use it!
Exactly! This is the same reason many other people use P2P networks!
P2P networks are the easiest, cheapest, and safest solution. If the **AA makes it harder to get or use their products, people are going to choose the best solution. That solution happens to be P2P networks.
From an earlier post:
"Lichens grow in the leftover spots of the natural world that are too harsh or limited for most other organisms. They are pioneers on bare rock, desert sand, cleared soil, dead wood, animal bones, rusty metal, and living bark. Able to shut down metabolically during periods of unfavorable conditions, they can survive extremes of heat, cold, and drought."
So, they weren't doing any living in space? My guess is they stopped their metabolism and ceased liven for a while. If they weren't active or anything, why do we care? Even if we did send lichens to other planets on big rocks, the rocks would be desrtoyed on impact, incinerating the lichens.
Like I say, the only way to defeat piracy is to remedy what originally caused it--not try and prevent it. In this case, it's prices and things like the **AA. Simply lower prices and make things more available, and there'll be no need for piracy.
Either:
1. Lies (hence the AC).
2. Truth. a little bird that wispered in my ear
3. LSD. If birds start whispering to you, you need to lay off the hallucinogens.
Could the government already be taking action against this? At the end of the '04-'05 school year, we took a school trip to DC. During the summer, I wanted to find out where my hotel was in relation to everything else. I looked up Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC, and found the White House. I looked around for a while, and then decided to find the Pentagon. I started to move away from the White House--when the power went out. It was out for about thirty seconds, and then came back on.
Something to think about.
And he's likely lto prove himself a liar twice
Does that mean he's telling the truth?

So... carry on.
You must be new here.

The part that either: 1. Sony doesn't pay them to keep, or 2. Allows removal via another method. We're talking Sony and Microsoft, remember.

Really? If they lose that much, I'm going to go buy one right now!
Just imagine a Beowulf cluster with these things!
I'm surprised nobody linked to this yet. It says a lot about the show.
Yes, I do believe antrax can be controlled. I find envelopes work well when containing it.
I find that news often shows up more than a day earlier on other sites such as technocrat.net
Slashdot, the news 24 hours after it was useful.
Don't you mean iRony? This is Apple.

And this is where they shut down the AC, because you had to go and participate (directly or indirectly) in copyright infringement.
Google search...Google earth...Google email...Google print
Google has TAKEN from the OSS community but not GIVEN BACK Huh. You just listed what Google gave back.
Or when they finally stop making the wires different colors, but label the red one.

He's already getting a lot of hits, and then you go and post it on Slashdot.
