    That's still an imaginary damage. Most of the people I know who download music either 1. would never buy it in store, so that's not money they lost, or 2. buy it precisely because they downloaded it, liked it, and decided to buy it. No lost profit there either, quite the opposite in fact.

    Just a quick test: you google something, and nothing comes up. Is your first thought "I need to try another search site" or "I need to check my search terms"?

    So, with the "breakthrough" a few months ago that three different dyes in a cell could capture 40% of light from the sun, does that make this more efficient than coal?

    Well, it doesn't take millions of years to make more when we run out.

    If you're not looking at the road while speeding, you should get a ticket. I don't mind going fast if the road and weather conditions allow it, but at least pay attention.

    Blizzard and WoW. The client itself has no copy protection whatsoever.

    The catch: all the free servers out there suck. Horribly.

    It's great how we no longer have to fear malicious Internet traffic, now that the evil bit has been set on every such packet.

    Since 99%+ of the traffic is either spam or torrent, we can safely set the evil bit on all traffic.

    Compared to both of you I am a complete lightweight, but I still experience headaches, depression, etc, when I go without.

    I smoke, I drink, I don't do coffee. Last headache I had was 5 years ago.

    Yes, I know that 'enterprise' quality peripheral support is really very good, but a lot of devices that people want to use- in large organisations & small - just can't be installed and/or work correctly/as expected/to thir full potential.

    Could you name one, please?

    My experience with Linux was a bit different: I've never seen a piece of hardware that wasn't fully supported including my noname (Philips) MP3 player. On the other hand, a fresh install of XP would regularly tell me to download a driver for my network card.

    Incorrect - if it runs in Wine, it'll run in FreeBSD (a supported platform).

    I hope you were joking. WoW is supported because there are millions of active players out there, and because Blizzard plays nice. The 3 best supported games I have are WoW, Diablo 2, and Starcraft. Incidentally, I have four games that I was able to run with wine.

    People don't care. They just want it to run their favorite game and accounting software. BSD doesn't do that.

    Weak analogy. Getting within a few weeks of correct on an event that occurs irregularly on the scale of decades to centuries seems pretty good to me.

    The funny part is, he was *immediately* labeled an imbecile when the earthquake was late.
