I always found that to big a problem with meeting stones, they only work if other people are using them, you wait just as long with a meeting stones as you spamming channel 4 for group members
I think channel 4 is the LFG channel, i could be wrong.
Back in high school I skipped a week to play UO, I rember i alomst got held back, I rember how angry my parents were, I rember that being the worst possible time in my life.
At the time I was very introvert and anti-social, So playing UO counter-acted that completly.
It seems that there is a link between self-image and the length of time u spend on an MMO. Just think about it
A good comparison between the length of a game and the length of time it takes a woman to reach forbidding x-tasy would be morrowind, yea, that game takes a long time, in fact I have owned the game for years and still haven't beaten the main storyline, about the same time it take to pleasure a woman.
My main problem with Peter Molyneux is the fact that he has to relese a sequels to fix the problems he admits to, heres an idea: admit these problems to yourself during production the first time.
This didnt happen only with black and white but also with fable (it also should be noted that they are releasing another version of fable for PC and x-box that expands on the original, and *surpirse* a sequal) that game had great potential only to be brought on by a re-realse.
Either he has to get his own affairs in order,or he needs a new publisher.
They have 3.5 million customers but how many people own more then one copy of the game?
I wouldn't be surprised if all the people who ran the gold farming sweatshops accounted for more then half of the numbers they are giving us (I over exaggerate of-course, but I don't doubt that its alot)
You will also never hear about all the people who leave the game for one reason or another, if you tallied those numbers it would proly be a huge one.
Thats interesting cause i didnt want anything to do with the magic system.
Alot of the games i ran i would pretty much void all magic and magic users and changed the way people make charecters starting off.
the astral walk aspect threw me off about it, and what went into it, plus all the extra stuff you had to do to use it. I do agree with you however about the matrix mechanics being less then par. if any player was jacked anytime during play it made it a game within a game.
I would like to get back into dumpshock and see if there is anything good going on, I only have 4 people where i live that play my SR games, I have been known to do epic storylines that last awhile.
That would be totally cool if they did something like that, I could settle for a shadowrun game in the scale of Deaus EX if they didnt do on a scale like morrwind like game:-)
The big problem with morrowind is u made your charecter and they dump u in this world and say "do whatever" What they needed was a better way to get you into the mian storyline and better way to get you to play all the side stuff they put in it, I have owned morrwind and the expansions for years and i have to beat the main storyline.
and i tried dumpshock also and got nothing, you could try searching for a good Multi User Dungeon (or MUD). Might get better results.
I have been running the shadowrun pen and paper game for years it seems like now (8 years actually), I actually just ended a recent session a couple of weeks ago.
I remember playing the RPG for Snes and remembering how fun it was, I actually played that first before I went to the pen and paper game.
In contrast the Snes game was watered down and had a fixed story line (which was once rumored to be the storyline of an old gaming session one of the developers had, but I could be wrong on that)and wasn't as rich as the pen and paper game, but lets face it there wasn't any way u could keep the interest of most people if you made it like that, so for what it was worth, it was a good game.
The only way a new game could work as a FPS is if they made it like (hold your breath) morrowind. It would be the only way you could do true justice to Shadowrun.
With game technology as it is, you could make the game one big open ended adventure, I could even see it as an MMORPG (not likely gonna happen).
Course then their is the plight of the casual gamer who gets turned off by a game world that big, it happened with morrowind and it would proly happen with Shadowrun if they did it in that manner.
I think most of the people are paranoid because they don't want valve to find out about all the "less then legal" stuff they have on their computers:-).
But in all honesty, the calling thing did put me off for a second. People do seem to guard their privacy hardcore and having "steam call home" can be looked at as violating that privacy. I quickly forgot about it however when I played HL2.:-)
I agree with you in the fact that , yes, Valve is only protecting their hard work, but, I think they can figure out a more creative and less obtrusive way to handle it.
And yes, Steam is an advantage right now. I stopped liking EA because of the forced deletion of some 3rd party software just to play the game. And being able to bypass a publisher like EA can justify a call from steam.
I haven't seen any official statement on the rumors of a rollback yet, and im still pretty confused as to what a rollback would do, from what I have read a rollback would:
*Get rid of any items players have received from any source
*Get rid of any gold players have accumulated
*Lower the player's levels
Anything in these categories that was received in the last 2-3 days (the days this supposed "dupe" bug was being exploited) will be lost, that's what I got from my information, I could be wrong.
But if in fact this is what Blizzard is planning on doing it will be a major setback for hardcore players and just a "hassle" for casual players like me (I use the term "hassle" lightly).
This is where most of the anger/cancellations of subscriptions will come from, the hardcore gamers. Someone who spends 3 days in a row grinding, and doing dungeon runs accumulating massive gold and items and experience (legitimately) will more then be angered at loosing it all.
Not to say that there won't be any casual gamers angry either. Rollback or no Rollback it's a loose/loose situation or blizzard.

Now of the good folks at blizzard could respond to duping in a simalair fashion for WOW
The PSP like the DS was simply fodder for the holiday seasons. Something to tide people over till the "next gen" counsoles come out.
Watch how fast PSP and DS fade out when they do come out.
I think i just smoked a big crack rock not to post this anonymously but i didnt like any zelda game after a link through time.
Mayby this will be different, if you delay a game that means it has the potential to be good, mayby they should apply this idea to the revolution.

nuff said.
If this guy was going to play games for that long continusly then good riddance
This artical is nothing but a long drawn-out explination as to why nintendo is going downhill, I can sum it up in a sentence:
"Nintendo had to be different and in being so dug it's own grave."
The only real thing that would make this movie watchable is if the rock ruined some zombies sh*t with a chanisaw, and even then it still might suck.
There seems to be a growing trend with dev's apologizing that thier games suck (I.E: Peter Monolioux)
It's hard to tell who to balme nowadays, the Dev or the publisher.
My main problem with Peter Molyneux is the fact that he has to relese a sequels to fix the problems he admits to, heres an idea: admit these problems to yourself during production the first time.

labia? how deformed are these models that you can actully see parts that would otherwise apear microscopic on a tv?
this lawer is proly a bigger perv then any of us to try and find this out.
Here is what I find humorous:

I dont think it will happen, and more then likley if they did it would be a POS :-).
in fact i dont have any high hopes for the game if they do in fact make it.
