    It's only a good case if it gets bench time. If charges are dropped before it goes to trial, or if she does a plea for probation to avoid possible further jail time, then nothing happens.

    Personally, I would hope this turns into a situation where she goes to trial, is found not guilty, and then is able to sue for malicious prosecution or whatever else the nastiest, meanest, pit-bull-of-an-attorney she hires can drum up since it's obviously not a piracy situation. At least from the story, it sounds like law was not followed to its intent.

    Court would not shoot this down. Not only is FiOS not required to post your free speech, but it is actually a luxury option for doing so. If you can prove that FiOS is the only option for online access, then *maybe* you'd have something. Instead, you got nothin.

    People generally want shorter sentences in the hopes of someone being rehabilitated. This guy's defense is basically "I can't be rehabilitated -- I'm a natural killer!" In response, the judge gives a reduced sentence.

    If I was an author who had slaved a year over a book, and anyone but my editor (with my approval on each change) altered my precious words and distributed it as my work, I'd sue the pants off of them. It'd be like if someone was selling prints of my painting and changing a brush stroke. You just don't do that. Words are the author's paint.

    Audi, Subaru, and any number of other manufacturers will often put the antenna as an embedded wire in the rear windshield so as to avoid all the irritations that come from antenna vs. car wash death matches.

    CT scans are about the most radiation you get short of radiation treatments. They use as much radiation as like 10 chest xrays.

    It can actually become an issue if someone needs radiation therapy ('chemo') -- there is a limit to the amount of radiation docs can give people, so if they have a CT scan it lowers the amount they can use to treat cancer/etc.

    No, the 'civilized' approach of which you speak means that they blindly perform acts that some expert says will reform the criminals, then they let them out, and finally the criminals commit crime again.

    That is why the vast majority of people in prison are repeat offenders: reform does not work most of the time.
