Voice Dialing is one of the feature that is listed. I do not have iPhone, I thought VD was a standard feature on the phones coming out today. The phone I have was bought in 2006 (Motorola razr), even this dinky phone has voice dialing. I cannot believe people stood in line to buy a iPhone that do not even offer voice dialing for that hefty price?

  3. He should be Fired on America's New CIO Loves Google · · Score: 3, Funny

Why is he talking about saving money. This is the time we need to be thinking about spending. We are proposing a trillion plus dollar budget and this guy is talking about win-win situation. Tax payers have lot of money. As soon as you get to a govt position where you have some decision on spending, you need to start treating Tax payers as ATM machines. That should be the litmus test for becoming a govt. employee. This CIO seems to fail in that regard. I ask all of you call your representatives and senators to push for firing of this guy. Thank you all and God Bless the USA.

We need to stop this socialist OS called Linux. How dare companies use this in their devices in this economy. People work for free to create this OS and where is the contribution to society. MS on the other hand should be encouraged to sue companies like RedHat, IBM etc.

They need to open their system. You cannot expect the same from MS because we are dealing with two different kinds of environment and goals. 9. Here are his answers on Microsoft Brings Back DRM · · Score: 0, Redundant

Why has Microsoft gone back to DRM when the vast majority of music services have ditched it?
A: It's a first step. We are looking for some idiots who do not look elsewhere on the web and we will make profit off of them.
With the likes of iTunes and Amazon offering DRM-free music that you can play on any device, why would anyone choose the MSN Mobile service?
A: There may well be people who are just idiots who buy whatever we throw at them.
The fee for downloading tracks - £1.50 - is relatively high compared to 79p on iTunes and less than that on certain Amazon tracks. Why is that?
A: Yes. We are not looking for people who are savvy enough to shop around. You are asking too many good questions. This service is not for you.

I feel bad for Microsoft. They are getting hit from multiple quarters. Dell wants to ship Linux with laptops and now toshiba with Open solaris. Apple is expanding their notebook sales. In this economy, people need to protect our flagship company. I think this can solved by govt. by providing a bailout package of $30 billion to MS. Please call your representatives and senators so they can save our Flagship company.

If all the suites acted like the one you have described there wouldn't be any Linux in corporates. Linux may not be used as a desktop OS. It is being used and is extending its market share on server side.

I do agree there are some who are ignorant and are not willing to use Linux at all.

With a client I am working with, we did a cost analysis for using Linux on desktop and for their business we found using Linux helps in reducing cost by 28% over 3 years compared to windows (Including Support from Novell, Application Migration, administrators training and all. Frankly some of the windows admins were very eager to learn linux and wanted to extend their knowledge too). We have moved the entire call center agents (about 1600 empolyees or about 12% of the workforce) desktops to Suse. All the applications they use is web based applications and work fine on FireFox. All the servers (on which call center apps run) we use now have been migrated to Linux (We had Windows 2003 on which we were running BEA Weblogic).

We will be migrating one division at a time. Suites understand Money and when you show them the cost benefit they will switch. Use that. Bring out a business case and show them how they can save money. I am a contractor and so I will sell to get business and same should go for employees too. Just don't go selling because you do not like Ms
