I've received that book for Christmas last year, most people saw it and were like, "why would you want that?" Then started flipping through the pages intrigued and almost immediately found something they did when they were a kid, be it chemistry or whatever.
I also have the book Free Range Kids which is also anti-coddling. Good stuff.
That's why a number of gaming outlets who normally wouldn't touch this stuff with a 100 foot pole jumped all over the fan translation of Mother 3 that came out a few years ago.
Nintendo of America just announced they will not be localizing Last Story, Xenoblade, or Pandora's Tower to the Wii, even though there was a huge campaign to bring them over. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Rainfall
This is pretty much the opposite of catering to the "hardcore" gamer crowd, though I guess they probably think that means people who play Call of Duty.
It's where you meet women and other interesting people outside your field of study. I liked my CS and math classes, but loved (and hated) some of my general education classes. And who knows, maybe you'll discover another passion and decide to leave CS altogether.
Doubt it, they just opened up an 800 number are simply accepting requests on targets. It sounds like they targeted Escapist because of their recent reporting on their Bethesda hack, but Minecraft and EVE just seems to come from boredom.
I saw this not having seen any of the previous X-Men movies and enjoyed it, found the story between Xavier and Magneto pretty engaging and liked the actors. There was a lot intentional(?) camp though and this has to be the first movie ever where I laughed out loud during a Nazi concentration camp scene. Multiple times.
January Jones is a seriously awful actor though. I guess the Mad Men writers are really good at hiding that, more props to them.
I went with someone who was at least familiar with the other movies and some of the comics, and it was cool asking him "so this guy with the chest laser is going to turn into the guy with the eye laser?"
I agree with you up until the 3DS. If it was just another DS Lite with simply the 3D as the selling point, this might be true, but this is the next generation portable platform for Nintendo titles and everyone else.
Pretty much agree. GameCube was released in late 2001 and they're complaining about a drought half a year after that? If anything, that simply indicates the gap between launch titles and the next wave of games. Within 12 months of this "drought" we saw Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda: Wind Waker, Animal Crossing, Mario Party 4. And those are just first party titles off the top of my head.
You can do at least one thing with any code you have in front of your eyes, including client side javascript, and that is examine it to see if you can "trust" it. No, you may not have the right to do anything you want with it, but that's within their rights to license the code however they wish. If you don't like how they license their code, don't use their service, find one that meets the four freedoms and live happily.
I doubt you waited years, mostly because then we had little idea what games had actually been released in Japan, let alone if they were good enough to wait for. Yeah, I got SMB3 in 1990, whatever.
Where's the Attack the Block review? Sounds like that is the real alien genre mashup winner.

Pee Tardier?
I actually thought Tea Bagger was mildly amusing, that's just ridiculously stupid. I bet you write M$, too?
My wife and I were in Ireland for a week and I drove 1000 miles.

This was my main issue with the Motorola DVRs... FIVE YEARS AGO IN 2006!
How is this not fixed yet? Been torrenting tv shows ever since.

You're doing the joke wrong.

Well, note that it's Unreal Engine 2.5, and not 3 which has been out for something like 5 years now.

Luckily no one reads the articles.
Yep, I've got two Xbox's myself running XBMC, great piece of software. Might try this out when I get a free weekend... sometime.
lol at the guy who thinks AIM is synonymous with using AOL.
Slashdot blurs the line between article and advertisement.
Just wanted to say: excellent post!
Wikileaks mocked this Pentagon Press Secretary tweet this morning:

Keep up looking out for the little guy for us all. Thanks!
Hey everyone, this guy took Law 30 in high school! Forget the ACLU and their "lawyers."

From what I understand, they just ban any account that has any content with the word "Bieber" in it.
Says 20,000 a day, not 20 million.
