I always hear about these new awesome r0x0r your s0x rootkits. That rootkit called HackDefender I believe it was that was all over the news wouldn't even install properly under a limited account..
also because the U.S./companies/organizations tend to facilitate the needs of those who speak only one language other than English. It gives them no incentive to learn the language. It's not about tourism/tourists or preference when an employer provides applications in other languages.
If we already spend thousands of dollars for toothpicks and new homes started using the same thing as yours, then they are probably going to want "thousands of dollars * 5" for the house. It's the American way.
According to TFA, it doesn't use an exploit except the one located between the chair and keyboard. It's a little vague, but a non-admin account in XP would have not allowed "ErrorSafe" to install.
So like every win32 virus it isn't a spawn of already existing code, and someone had to write it using an existing API or scripting engine that anyone can use and has already used for otherwise legitimate purposes? Get rid of scripting engines and APIs. Problem solved.
I installed the 2006 trial on a clean test pc, it took an hour to install, and the PC is by no means slow. After rebooting when told, ccApp.exe and CfgWiz.exe were using the CPU 50/50 and continued to do so with nothing showing up. So the install technically never finished. Same thing with 2005, and 2005 SE from the Google pack.
If I buy an MP3 player I don't expect to buy a phone, a home entertainment system, a bread slicer and wipes my ass for me too.
You sue Microsoft, claiming anti-competitive practices.
if it weren't so insecure this problem wouldn't exist.
Really? I can put my own Mac together?

It was because of changes to buffers they made in XP SP2 and 2003 SP1.
Why isn't XP SP2 or 2003 SP1 affected?
Bad title.
The battery was obviously made in China and implanted as a plot to overthrow the Japanese government and take back Taiwan.

> Does a new Linux kernel backport it's improvements to a previous kernel? Hell no. But the new kernel doesn't cost anything.

They're gonna try to maximize their profits, just like those who bought the first $900 CD player. But the dollar was worth more back then..
The OS after Vista will feature a game called "Chair Thrower 3000"?
Secure code doesn't stop insecure users, and then those insecure users saying your software is insecure. They totally missed the point.

I changed my account's group to Users. It was tough but I got through it.. changing the setting I mean.
I'm all for a basic How Things Work, but if I don't want to be a Chemist, Physicist or a Rocket Scientist, then it shouldn't be shoved down my throat.

Microsoft should have copied Apple by using UNIX, then we wouldn't have these issues, except now SCO will be out to sue Microsoft.
Well, you can add however many users you want in an NTFS ACL.. you have to lump everyone into a group in *nix: owner, group, others.. how intuitive.
I hate to burst your bubble, but Microsoft is a convicted monopolist and we will soon be hearing about Apple crying to the EU and US DoJ.
Fail, while using Linux for their servers? Unheard of!
