Viper Paintball,http://www.viperpaintball.com/, came to mind when I saw this article. It's a RTS Paintball event. A paintball game with missions and a storyline lasting up to 26 hours, even during the night.
Yeah, Are We There, Yeti? was one of my favorite WoW quests. Another favorite of mine was the lazy peons quest where you hit sleeping orc peons with a cludgel to wake them up and force them back to work.
The music industry isn't stupid. The demographics of who purchase their music are probably very well studied and known to them. If this is the case, why arn't they targetting the demographics of the rich with higher quality product if this would maximise their profits, as you say?
There must be a good anwser to this question that they have come up with. Perhaps the "intelligent music conniseur" market is too small to viably target in this way. Either way, I'm merely wondering why this pricing and profit maximising isn't in place if it's a truely profitable system.
I see this as the beginning of a trend of colored seasonal beers. Green beer for St. Patrick's Day....perhaps an orange beer for Halloween! Or a yearround Red, White, and Blue multipurpose patriotic beer! Ah, the marvels of modern science.
I KNEW I had seen a similar product somewhere! I thought of the same sight. Apparantly there must be a market if multiple companies are producing these products.
For example, my neighbors' PC doesn't work with iPods so well. I'm sure they'd consider purchasing this.
Remember the whole GBLT-friendly controversey in World of Warcraft? I can only imagine what the situation must be like in this "game." I wonder what the GMs are like...
According to http://www.shadowbane.com/, Shadowbane supports both Mac and PC. I'm going to have to check this out. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a Linux version.
I dont know about you, but I'd actually consider playing this if it was an real product. It's certainly innovative and who doesn't like a good dosage of polka music?
I wonder if you can finish a particuarly amazing concert by smashing an accordion on stage...
Despite the somewhat poor production values, I enjoyed the brief bit of the film. The content of the film is something unique that other films have yet to capture, so I can look past the editing and enjoy the film.
This may be an economic no-brainer if you make $50 an hour. But if you're paying 25 cent or less an hour sweatshop wages, this becomes very profitable. It's probably quite profitable to the people that own the farming operations overseas.
Memory latency is a huge issue on desktop gaming, apparantly. I spoke with someone from Blizzard about it, who said that it's one of the main performance factors of why World of Warcraft runs signifigantly faster on some PCs.
I usually never play Slayer, because I just dont see the point and Free For All slayer tends to have a lot less of the strategy elements involved that Capture the Flag does.
I absolutely agree with you about Doom.
I have to admit that I was impressed with the performance on the G5 there and the fact that the binary was completed so fast.
The iMac must have been amazing. And this IS big news, given that World of Warcraft has taken the gaming world by storm.
I've been stopped at airports for carrying almost any of my electronic devices. My old titanium powerbook caused a bag search on a few occasions.
One time, we were carrying this portable chess set with round peices that stacked, which happened to look a lot like explosives on the scanner.
Seriously! I've seen some bad excuses for Slashdot articles, but this is just lame. This is nothing new and blatant advertising.
What is the purpose of this article? Does anyone have a legitimate explatation for why this article should exist?
The constant high prices are turning me off from purchasing the Battle Chest right now, since I already have WoW and a few other MMOs. If the price dropped by even 10 dollars, though, I'd run out and buy it right away. They would sell a lot more copies, it seems, and capitalize on the sucess of WoW by lowering their prices or ofering a WoW Warcraft bundle.
I have come up with the perfect way to thwart this privacy-invading scheme! Cover my face in tin foil!
I belive the idea was that it was a "futuristic prison," which explained the puzzles.
If the movie Doom was half as good as the Doom comic, perhaps it wouldn't be on my list as one of the worst films of all time.

.....can it run Linux now?

This is just what the world needs: more spam. How is this good in any way?
The plasma......they're everywhere! Frogblast the Ventcore!

You can increase your /. sarcasm skill to 315 with enchants and a special dagger though!
