So what after 6 months you can't download the game you bought anymore? What a piece a shit! I can't believe there is a digital download service that's worse than the IGN one!(Direct2Drive)
Maybe. But isn't NATURE affected by rising global temperatures, which raise the water temperatures in the gulf which feeds the Hurricanes and turns a category 1-2 into 4?
I know this won't fly in USA. Despite the underground economy of most MMOs, where player trade real life cash for items, anything official endorsement of such practice in form of item mall would turn large crowds away.
Besides considering the steep price of MMO subscriptions in USA, $15 a month, I doubt they they can make more money any other way. Most hardcore players already have more than one account, if you want to target them, you will lose money in the long run.
I don't know how much I use, but I am a heavy user. I guess I shall have to wait and see. I seriously don't like this idea. It's more or less how insurance companies won't insure the very sick. And is just a side effect of for profit system, instead of system for public good. Internet should be a public commodity that could not be denied. I guess in this case I do have an alternative as well, I could get fios, but it could potentially not save me any money.
I wealthy Nigerian business person. I have been very ill and I do not have son or daughter to whom to leave my vast fortune. I decided to leave all my moneys, in sum of 10 million US Dollars to you. All I need to make this possible is for you to give me your bank account and wire transfer number.
Sincerely,
Lord Jimbo Wazuu of Nigeria

Listen here Jimbo. I am very excited about your proposition. I have no problem in taking money that does not belong to me. But I will have to talk to Dick to get my bank info. See I don't keep track of all that stuff, I let him handle it, and most of everything else. I'll have him email you shortly.
How does it discriminate younger employees if they will probably have a family later and benefit from the same system themselves? Only way they would be victims of this system is if they paid for it now and it changed before they got their own families...
Who would guard them? All of us are stupid from time to time. And according to the statistics I just made up, 80% of all people are chronically stupid.
While I find the game easy to level because there is almost no feeling of the grind. Overall I had a poor experience.
I find the PvP aspect of the game poorly balanced. There are no abilities that would allow few good players to overcome the zerg of the opposing realm. Basically most RvR consists of constant pushing back and forth until the side with more players prevails. To top that off on EVERY server they put up, Destruction outnumbered Order by good 50%. Sprinkle that with few abilities which are clearly overpowered, and you only exacerbate the imbalanced population problem, as only one class of one race may have such ability. This all to me is a recipe for disaster.
However, a casual player may not care if the game is balanced, since they only want to play an hour here or there. But they might care about the bugs which were not a priority it seemed in Beta. They may also care about the constant server reboots, and whole zones crashing...
Wasn't there a story a few months back where some Flagship nutjob, well I can call him that now since he was crazy obviously, claimed they were doing just fine? And that they had no problems what so ever. I knew it was corporate spin back then, but it seems delicious now.
I watched way more swimming than I should probably admit this Olympics. But I noted that all Americans performing used same tactic. Basically they swam not as fast as they could until their last pool length, where they really pushed their foot on the gas sort of. I think they do this because going fast like that works up oxygen deficit and you end up out of breath. If they swam this fast in the beginning they wouldn't keep it up, and they would even slow down. But by doing it on their last stretch they end up out of breath when they no longer need to swim since the race is over. It's a tactic that seems to have paid off very well, race after race.
I see someone demanded the ultimate proof: "Make a penis vehicle. "

Maybe not Natural, but isn't Minnesota in danger of being invaded by Canada? ;)

It would be funny if someone patented metered billing and hit them with a law suit hehehehe.

In America the mentality is different. If you can charge for something, why do it for free?
shouldn't the "evidence" be in quotations?
But they include a nice campaign with cinematics for us old timers.

Maybe that was their problem?
As a sushi lover, I support this.
I mean, damn, the cheapest shareware author from the early 90's would be ashamed to ship something this spectacularly screwed up.
The industry has come a long way since the 90s. Just look at what EA tends to ship now a days.
I'm pretty sure growing up without your parents (them being behind bars and all) would have a worse effect on the child than little TV.
Not arguing against the article, more against the motion amongst most slashdotters responding to it.

So where did they old Russia go?

How else could they sell us 2 different OSes for one machine?

I think your average taxpayer is more likely to be a car owner than a copyright owner...
Wouldn't lazyness be an excuse for not pirating?
