    I've never seen one operated but there are machines that cut the damaged ends, polish, and fuse a replacement length of fiber. The process is accurate to some small faction of a millimeter.

    I wish I had mod points I could give you. That was pretty much a perfect summation of the way any good IT admin should act and feel.

    I can't tell you how many times I had to do a search of 15,000 SQ foot lab floor because some aerospace engineer thought it would be a good idea to plug the private network side of SOHO router into the main network. They just couldn't seem to understand why an rogue DHCP server would be a problem.

    To those who tagged this "so what?" I would like to pose a question in response. Have you seen what happens to products that get endorsed by Oprah?!?!

    They become over night best sellers, most of the time. She has a cult like following that will buy up most anything she recommends. This is why it's interesting. We will now see if something that has failed to take off for quite a number of years will now do so, just because a pop icon gave it the thumbs up.

    TFA is clearly wrong. The image looks more like it is exploding Sudan, rather than exploding over Sudan.

    Perhaps you forgot to read the caption for the picture that said "Artist's impression of a LARGE asteroid impact".

    It is nothing but our own pride that insists that we are either the best in the world, or completely worthless.

    There is a huge sliding grayscale of worthiness in the intellectual/industriousness domain.

    The world needs a rich supply of people spread across that middle range.

    Learn the value of who you already are, and be proud of it.

    You remind me of the book "Brave New World" where they learned to genetically engineer geniuses on a mass scale but went back to creating middle and lower classes because the geniuses wouldn't to manual labor jobs.

    In other words, the world needs ditch diggers.

    You're totally missing one of the biggest reason that Apple setup their application store on iTunes.

    They wanted to create an easy to use application market that was unlike the myriad of shady sites you have to navigate to find apps for Windows Mobile or Palm OS. While this program isn't malicious like some of the WM and Palm apps it is financially malicious and as such should be pulled to preserve the image of market where you don't have to worry about getting defrauded like you do on sites for other platforms.
