  1. so.. on Los Alamos Reconsiders Touch Screen Voting · · Score: 1

I keep seeing people say that such electronic voting systems should be open, etc- so why hasn't someone made an open system yet (and marketed it)?

Perhaps I don't completely grasp the technical issues of such a system, but it doesn't seem terribly hard to implement.

Oh, another thing- if a user touches the touchscreen in two places at once, a popup window should say "Follow the directions, stupid"

  17. Radio Shack vs Sharper Image on An Affordable Air Purifier For Dusty Computer Labs? · · Score: 5, Informative

Yes, the Environizer sold by Radio Shack(made by Honeywell) is a pretty good product. There are two huge differences between the two air purifiers sold by RS and Sharper Image: 1. The Honeywell Environizers have a silent fan built in; the SI product does not. Having a fan means you can clean a much larger volume of air. 2. Price. RS has much lower prices, at least $100 less than the competition for a comparable product.

I love my Environizer and recommend it to everyone who wants cleaner air.
