This is FUD. When they started charging the only thing that changed (at that time, don't even know if it still applies) was only new accounts had to pay for it. Definitely if your account was created before that date, there was/is no issues using Outlook/Outlook Express.
I could be wrong on this, but based on what I have read about it, its not the current threat, but the future threat. The current virulent straings have just started making the full blown jump to human compatible variations. Its the spread of those strains that are making the jump thats the problem. Basically now they have reported cases in Western Europe (and Eastern Europe and throughout Asia previous) and is only a matter of time to for it to spread elsewhere. Then the strain will start jumping to humans in more locations, humans passing it to humans, etc.
Actually, every project contains wastes. That can't be avoided. For every machine perfect system you got a human there (or something) to possibly mess it up. However, as the endeavor of building and living on another celestial body has *never* been done (on any permanent basis), of course its imperative to try this out on the moon. Something mildly bad happens, we can probably get there (since we would already be ferrying things back and forth). Something like that happens on Mars and well, hope the radiation kicks evolution into overdrive.
What about our good friend, we have no casting anything without Al inventing the Internet (j/k). But is it really limited to audio only? Check out 366 on Direct TV. I am actually fairly addicted to it.
Could this issue not be easily solved by simply placing the tentacles into a position to make the parameter of the unit square when turned off, for storage? BTW, I claim copyright/patent, etc:)
Unless you have something lined up, don't just quit unless some legal boundry (or moral) has been crossed. The current (modern?) economy is not setup to easily just move around in general. In my own experience, I was working for a great small company the past almost three years. I got all the benefits, good pay, awesome vacation (which allowed me to see much of the world), etc. However, I felt in the end I was starting to stagnate and didn't have anywhere to move up. So this became the impetus to look elsewhere. The reasoning being the obvious, more money, and the less obvious, networking, relearning old skills, learning new skills, learning about different companies/industries, etc. I been at my new job for two weeks now and while I was very timid initially for fear I made a big mistake, turns out each day is better then the previous and I am really liking it here. So always keep your eyes open, but don't just jump ship without some careful consideration and planning.
After DS9, I kind of just didn't have much time to watch as consistently as before and that might explain why I never got much into Voyager or Enterprise. However I caught some Enterprise lately and it seemed decent enough. However, one show that comes from Roddenberry's world caught my eye was Andromeda? Is this an alternate place in the Star Trek universe, or its own thing totally? Either way I really like and find myself yet again making time (and now watching it has me catching reruns of TNG and DSP).
You know you make a great point, but just thinking in a moment of boredom at work, why are we considered dominant? Simply because of our ability to kill everything including ourselves? I mean, say, us versus cockroaches or fruitflies, do we really have a chance of out lasting them? I guess given enough tech, but nature always seems to find a way so far.
Well maybe not 30, well, actually...yeah. I have not timed it. But down here in OC we have a thing called the Twenty, its 20 minutes of ads before the movies. Add the trailers, and yes, its over 30 minutes of stuff before the movie.
Personally, it does not bother me, at least its something instead of muzak. I still get to see the movie and its all run before the movie time so I don't see a huge issue there. I can understand it bothering some people though.
Not trolling, just curious. I know we can talk about exchange rates, but, but lets see, 480,000,000/15,000 (deaths)=32,000. Now, I totally agree with you that if the government is not going to do anything with the money in terms of directing it to the affected families, then don't bother. However, even excluding all future deaths and all just incapacitated people, 32000 is a very trivial amount. Even at the 3000 death estimate, thats only 160,000. So again, I am agreeing with you, just saying even after exchange rates, I don't feel this bulk settlements are ever truly fair even if paid out.
Am I just lucky? I have a first generation PS2, that I bought used from Best Buy (open box?), so you know it was not nicely treated even before leaving the store. That was at least, eh, 4 years ago now and its never had an issue, not even one time. Do I have some sort of super PS2?
Just so you guys know (I am not affliated), I just bought Civ3, for 7 bucks at Microcenter two weeks ago, now its discounted to 3.99, as is MOO3. So if you put off buying it before, there is no reason now.
I don't know if this is related...but the links between stories after you choose an article are gone, forcing me to have to go back to the homepage to get to the next article. I had a couple ideas. Did they not do some hardware upgrades not long ago? If so, maybe they are forcing stress testing on them to see whats wrong? Or maybe they sold out and are going for front page hits circa 1999. I always noticed in the subsections you could not traverse articles and always had to go back to the main page, maybe thats why. Anyway,/./.'ing itself seems like cybersuicide.
I agree. Having been born and raised in Chicago, moved various other major cities, went to the University of Kentucky, then to NYC, now I am in SoCal. Many places around the country do have substantially lower costs of living (in US, but I am sure applies to most countries), while still actually paying a decent amount (say in KY, in Dyslexington or Lville). I do alright now in Cali, but I busted my ass, the OC is freaking expensive! My rent is *four* times what it was in Lexington. Plus you got UK (and several other schools) in Lexington for your educational needs, without having to drive two hours in rush hour to some UC school here.
I too have been trying hard to learn various languages over the years to varying degrees of success. I took Spanish through all levels of education (elem->uni), French at the uni, Japanese, Mandarin, etc. However, I decided to focus on Cantonese and realized I had to change from the book method as I was going tremendously slow. Pimsleur has worked very well for me. I am on Lesson 8 in the Cantonese CD's and my friends (from Hong Kong) are completely blown away. Sure, its just beginning for now, but they never expected me to do it on my own and its given me that ability. 30 minutes one way to work (or home) so I do each lesson twice a day (or sometimes several times over a few days if I am stuck) and its working great. Honestly, up to this point, my retention rate is probably near 100%. *However* there is one issue, so far they have explained almost no grammatical rules, so sometimes its very hard to know when to say words in one order or another. However the lessons are laid out so that you can memorize by situation, which I guess is what native speakers of any language by in large do anyway.
Actually, I Just wanted to clarify something here for you and many others I have heard of who have done the same thing you have. Most banks have multiple RTN's, usually at least two (most have many more). The one on your checkbook is *not* the one used for the tax refunds. I can't remember where I saw it (online, or in Turbo Tax, or something else) but it prompted me to call my bank to ask and lo-and-behold, I am glad I called. So it took me about 10 days to get both my refunds (state/gov) back. Call your bank.
I worked there as well back during the KLAT-2 days. Sure I dont' remember getting any actual mention on the project (even if I did help coordinate the student help, help build it, assemble it, etc), but thats ok. It was a great project to work on (I still even have the GaLUGtica videos I made in 3dsmax) and I did learn quite a few things. Deitz harpy of darkness, aka Tim Mattox, knows his stuff, and him along with Dieter will very helpful to the students answering whatever questions they had.
Um, hello. Go to MS, download powertoys, right click on the taskbar, go to toolbars, check desktop manager, and viola, msvdm with support for 4 desktops you can toggle between or view all 4 at once. How much simpler can that be?
Not a flame, but a serious question, since while I love my country (USA), I do want to live abroad.
With that said, how is it there? Whats your quality of life like? The environment? I work as a software/hardware engineer in souther California, so while I understand I have it better then most in this world living here, I am no stranger to poverty growing up before moving out here last year.
I have to agree. I live in Irvine CA but just visited Dayton for the Vectren Airshow, it was amazing. I also went to the musuem, and must say, its a must see. Where else can you hug a casing for an atom bomb? Stand where Johnson was sworn in and ponder where Kennedy's casket wsa (Air Force One), see a plane that can go 4500 mph, and one of the (Mercury?) capsules? It was one of the best weekends of my life.

Don't worry thats as close as your ever going to get ;)

Of course, you know the quote that old lady gave to I believe Carl Sagan, "its relational databases all the way down"
