    Thing is they didn't get the information from Sony themselves. Sony may refuse to give them information but that doesn't stop Kotaku from getting said information from other sources. Either way they should have just denied the rumor and left it at that. Now we have no reason to see/hear the GDC yet if they denied the rumor people will still want to find out what, exactly, it was.

    But technically it's voluntary and not forced. I've lived in a 'use tax' state most of my life and have never paid a use tax on my internet purchases. Part of the problem is that it is not enforceable, it requires people to be honest. The second problem is that nobody I know even knew what a 'use tax' was. So it's obviously not as well documented or brought to public attention because it would probably cost more to do that than it would bring in.

    45 states have the use tax(I can't remember which five don't off hand). It requires you to calculate it and pay it quarterly. How many people do that, however, is another question. I sure as hell don't.

    If you had no intention of buying it wouldn't that mean you should also have no intention of listening to it which means you should have no reason to obtain a copy of his so-and-so? As far as I am concerned you're gaining enjoyment from a product that you gained by not compensating someone for that product. I have no qualms btw with downloading music but I for one know it's wrong. I just don't care.

    That is a perfect example.

    People also tend to forget that business have to pay taxes on inventory. If you're selling items in a virtual world you would probably be looked upon as a business and therefore would be subject to business rules related to taxation

    the most recent versions of windowsxp supports sata off the bat so your argument doesn't hold water unless they're using an older version of windows...just like if you use an older version of ubuntu or any linux flavor
