Did you ever see the Wii head tracking? It seems like a possible solution: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw
Of course the other option is just a camera that does facial recognition to see where your eyes are pointed. Mercedes has something like that to tell if you are watching the road or falling asleep.
As long as you use quotes and cite the source I see no problem in copying sentences. But it is going a bit far when you copy the whole article and put quotes at the beginning and end:)
I used to take my laptop to class every day, but I found that in most classes it was merely a distraction. The times I sat in the back row I could see everyone elses computers as well. The majority of the time these people were also distracted. The only classes of the ones that I took that really benefited were my programming classes, and even then, it wasn't every class period.
I know that for some their experiences will be different. But so far in almost every instance, the people with computers were very distracted from what was going on in class. And when you start watching a youtube video in class, it distracts the people sitting behind you too.
I always measure my bandwidth in Libraries of Congress per second LBOCps
Example: At home I have a 2.9617214795225155279503105590062e-8 LBOCps connection at home:)
This is assuming the library of congress has 322 Tbits of information in it.
I think it will be a mix of the two. For some a current netbook does everything they need. If a phone came to have more horse power than current netbooks, we will see some users using only the one device.
However, there will always be the users that need as much processing as they can get.
I was home schooled for two years. I then returned to public school. And hardly learned anything for almost 3 years because I was so far ahead of everyone else in my school.
Regardless of the religious affiliation, I feel home schooling has many advantages....as long as the parties involved show a little discipline.
Based on my experience with the TSA, they would require you to go through another security check point before going through the metal detectors and xrays.
The plan is fool proof!
As much as I hate to admit it, I use windows media center on Windows 7. I use an xbox in each room as extenders. I run MCE buddy to convert the files to WMV and remove the commercials. With this setup I record my shows, chop out the commercials and make them available in every room. I only have to run one windows computer to make it happen.
The xbox supports netflix streaming, but it requires an xbox live subscription, so I only pay for the subscription in one room. I don't play any games on the xbox, I only use it as an extender.
I tried several different setups before going with the windows solution, but this has been the easiest and prettiest solution I have done.
If you use a homerunhd tuner, your windows media center computer could be a virtual machine....just in case you don't want to dedicate hardware to the task.
I have spindles of 10 year old CD's which still work fine. The only ones that have problems are the ones that have been scratched or left out in the car.
Yes those DSL modems run linux....but how many stupid users use those modems as their desktop computer. Users have a habit of clicking ok on anything that pops up in front of them.
I agree that Linux is way safer than windows. And I agree that at the moment, it may do more harm than good to run a virus scanner. But, I wouldn't completely discount the value of a virus scanner on Linux since it is not impossible to get a virus. And if Linux ever gains any real market share in the desktop market, we will see a rise in malware.
Regardless of how secure the OS is, a stupid user with rights to install software can be duped into allowing a trojan to run on their computer. These instances are where a virus scanner becomes useful.
I've been using USAA to deposit checks with my scanner at home for about 4 years now; works great :)

Ever hear of the Prime Directive? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prime_Directive
I did the same thing, and have never regretted it for a moment.
By this time next year we will be on Chrome Version 17!

me too....I was very confused as to how hanging out in a small concrete room would help with Myelin.
or exploit their flaw to install a better browser :)

this is recycling a very old idea....ever see the movie roots?

well that's easy...the password is Inside their head :)...the wrench is the tool in which to get there.
As long as it is an option, and turned off by default.....and who has to sign these packages?

In case you don't have a Linux server (How Dare You) there is now a windows based asterisk:
http://www.asteriskwin32.com/
Or you could of course run asterisk in a virtual machine. using something like virtualbox: http://www.virtualbox.org/
I ordered the free cd's once...but by the time I received them I had forgotten about them and a new version had already come out.
If you have a windows server, you can tell Share point to index the file share. See: http://dotnetmafia.sys-con.com/node/1046930
I was about to ask the same question

"It doesn't need any virus protection"
While viruses are not very prevalent. I wouldn't say you dont need virus protection.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_malware
As Linux becomes more common among end users we will see more viruses.
that's why I brought brownies :)
